Group Strategy at HKEX is responsible for developing, incubating and overseeing the delivery of key strategic initiatives across the firm. The team works hand-in-hand with internal and external partners across a spectrum of initiatives, including product and platform development, strategic market-facing projects, collaboration with other exchanges and market participants, and expansion into complementary and new lines of business.
The role presents a unique opportunity for a highly commercial and analytical candidate with a desire to contribute to the regional and global financial markets. Experience in exchanges, strategy, corporate finance or business development is strongly preferred. Capital markets or market infrastructure experience is a plus.
Co-ordinate and deliver research and analysis on topical issues affecting HKEX's business
Screen and assess opportunities for acquisitions, investments and external partnerships
Work with multiple other HKEX Divisions on assessing, incubating and implementing strategic initiatives
Prepare position papers and present recommendations to senior management
Prepare for and attending meetings with business / government / regulator counterparts
Actively participate in strategic idea generation for the firm
Supervise more junior team members and organize their work
University degree, preferably in Finance / Economics / Business Administration or related disciplines
At least 8 years of experience of which 4-6 years of experience in a strategy, consulting, corporate finance/ M&A, investment bank or business development type role preferred.
Ambitious and highly motivated self-starter
Excellent commercial awareness and financial literacy
High Caliber written and spoken presentation skill
Excellent in financial modelling
High level of interest in the global capital markets
Cantonese and / or Mandarin is a bonus
Candidates with less experience will be considered for the role of Assistant Vice President.
