The Role Responsibilities
Strategy Awareness and understanding of the Group & Country business strategy and model appropriate to the role Business Awareness and understanding of the Islamic business, local economic and market environment in which the bank operates, appropriate to the role Processes · 1 st line (Unit Operational Risk Manager) People and Talent · Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners. · Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people, and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks. · Employ, engage and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical role s . · Responsibility to review team structure/capacity plans. · Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives. Risk Management · Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group. Also, an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them · the ability to interpret the Group's financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures · Act as the facilitator, supervising officer & executive for the risk control owner under the Group's Risk Management Framework (including relevant Operational Risk Framework ownership for Syariah risk) · Ensure a full understanding of the risk and control environment in area of responsibility · Specific Risk Management task as per follows · Manage risk reporting in EORP (reporting, updating and closure of records) · Prepare Saadiq BORC pack and minutes · Perform CST/KCSA in OPTIAL system · Validate 18 Islamic specific CST/KCSA per annum · Report KRI and LED in BNM ORION system for Saadiq, including SNC cases · Review RRA for Syariah Approval · Assist to update GSGF/SRGGF pack · Reconcile operational losses for Saadiq · Update DMC metrics · Assist to update CORC pack · Update other risk forums, committees on Saadiq related issues · Attend other risk forums held by other units under the leveraged model · Update SAC on Operational Risk · Assist to conduct Pillar 3 disclosure · Assist to facilitate KPMG reviews · Perform ICAAP and BNM Stress Testing · Perform and complete BIA/BCP for Saadiq CEO Office · Conduct annual BCP training for staff · Assist to review and validate TSA for OR · Review Islamic Global Process Standards for Retail Banking · Annual dip testing on Risk Units on the 20% sampling methodology for CST/KCSA · Assist to update and revise risk internal documents i.e. engagement model, charity policy · Report SNC to SAC for decision · Prepare CEO report for OR · Prepare CCRO report · Conduct OR training to other BORMs under the leveraging model · Review CMR/SCR report and raise EORP as necessary Governance · Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Group's arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas · Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role. · Responsible for delivering 'effective governance'; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
Regulatory & Business conduct · Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct. · Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct. · Lead the Islamic business unit & support functions via leveraging model to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Operation of the Islamic specific processes; Compliance to Syariah as per the IFSA 2013 and relevant guidelines; Financial Crime Prevention; The Right Environment. · Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters. · Effectively maintain the BNM ORION Loss reporting and KRI database as the appointed submission officer for the Bank Key Stakeholders · BNM Operational Risk Unit, Operational Risk teams within the Parent bank via the leveraging model the subsidiary operates

· Academic or Professional Education/Qualifications; i.e. standards required for roles - 1. Degree in Banking/Finance or related fields · Licenses and Certifications/accreditations; i.e. internal/externally required 1. NIL · Professional Memberships; i.e. required for roles for continuous development/ improvement/awareness of current practices etc 1. NIL · Bank training; i.e. mandatory & developmental - 1. Mandatory - Mandatory Group E-Learning, Internal OR systems training i.e. EORP, OPTIAL, ORION, KNOX (as and when required), basic Islamic Banking product knowledge, Certificate in Islamic Banking Finance & Law (IIUM) 2. Developmental - Advanced level Operational Risk training from external parties (IBBM or from similar institutions), Islamic Banking product training (from internal or external parties) · Languages; 1. Good spoken/written English 2. Second languages are not mandatory but preferred (for engagement purposes)
