Join the SVB team and help bring our clients' world-changing ideas to life. You will be joining a dynamic and fast-growing project finance business, which has committed over $800mm in capital to project since 2013 and has ambitious growth targets.
As a Vice President II on the growing Project Finance team, you will work with the Market Manager and/or Managing Director to lead the execution of project finance debt transactions across a variety of potential sectors: renewable energy, power, infrastructure, oil & gas, water and agricultural technology. You will support the origination of these opportunities, and take ownership for execution, including both external and internal tasks such as due diligence, credit approvals, document review and management of processes with external advisors, other lenders and internal partners. You will also support portfolio management, as needed. As the business continues to grow, you will also be involved in expected future project finance financial advisory assignments. You will have a leading hand in shaping the new business for SVB.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support Market Manager and Managing Director in the origination of new opportunities. Includes market research/opportunity identification, supervising junior resources in connection with development of pitch materials, development of indicative term sheets and initial credit screening processes.
Lead execution of debt opportunities by leading all aspects of due diligence, supervising modeling work, discussions with clients, advisors, lawyers, other banks, coordination with Syndications where appropriate, leading credit approval and other internal processes, documentation review (financing documents and project documents),
General assistance with the growth of the business, including research into new potential business areas and as needed assistance with portfolio management.
Review and analysis of potential project debt opportunities, including recommendations
Lead preparation of presentations to clients and other banks
Lead due diligence, negotiation of term sheets, negotiation of credit documentation, review of project documents
Lead internal credit approval processes (pre-screen through to final credit approvals)
Participate in the development and maintenance of client relationship i.e. visiting client with senior bankers to deliver pitches
Keep up with industry trends
Supervise more junior resources in connection with the above, as well as in connection with development and running of Excel financial models
Promote skill building and knowledge transfer to train junior staff
7+ years of experience at a major financial institution focused on project finance lending
Direct experience working on energy and/or infrastructure related transaction
Proven experience in financial modeling, risk/mitigant identification and analysis, and drafting and presenting underwriting/credit proposals
Experience reviewing finance and project documentation
Experience managing external consultants, including lawyers, and working with other banks
