Job Description: SunTrust Robinson Humphrey's Analyst Program begins with up to seven weeks of classroom instruction that consists of an introduction to capital markets, products and services, accounting, corporate finance, systems and financial modeling training designed to give Analysts all the tools they will need to be successful. After the classroom training, Analysts join a product group or industry coverage group and play a meaningful role in supporting senior banking professionals.
Portfolio Management underwrites and manages the debt capital STRH commits to its corporate client base. Portfolio Managers work together with Corporate and Investment Bankers, Product Specialists, and Risk Managers to deliver capital and strategic ideas to the STRH client base. Post close of a debt funded transaction, Portfolio Managers lead the credit relationship with their clients and actively manage and monitor the credit profile and exposure levels across their portfolios.
Portfolio Management Analysts' career paths begin with a structured training program that includes accounting, modeling, corporate finance, underwriting and financial analysis training followed by placement within one of STRH's Geographic or Industry Groups. Through exposure to a wide variety of corporate lending transactions, Analysts will enhance their financial and industry analysis skills, build expertise in corporate finance and underwriting, and develop a comprehensive understanding of their portfolio of clients.
The program will introduce Portfolio Management Analysts to SunTrust, corporate finance and specifically, debt analysis. Portfolio Management Analysts work with a Portfolio Management team, who focus on the debt profiles of STRH clients and support Corporate and Investment Bankers, Product Specialists and Risk Managers to deliver strategic solutions to SunTrust's clients. The Portfolio Management team analyzes companies' financial operating performance, evaluates industry trends and identifies key risks and mitigants of a client's credit profile against our lending parameters. Portfolio Management Analysts will work on cash flow analyses and underwriting credits to sharpen financial analysis skills.

The Portfolio Management Analyst position is typically a two-year position. At the end of the two-year period, Analysts may be asked to remain in the role for an additional year.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
Completed BA/BS degree with a scheduled graduation of December 2019 or May 2020
Overall GPA of 3.0
Proven analytical ability and attention to detail
Solid leadership and interpersonal skills
Superior written and oral communication skills
Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
Business, Accounting, or Math major
Prior completion of Accounting or Finance coursework
High degree of academic and extracurricular achievement
Willingness to commit substantial time and energy to the program
