We are currently looking to recruit a highly experienced financial crime professional to be based in Sydney to help manage Financial Crime systems and solutions, providing advice and oversight over critical controls and systems.
The Financial Crime Compliance team, within Macquarie's Compliance Division, drive a high and consistent level of compliance, advancing Macquarie's broader financial crime risk management frameworks. The Financial Crime Compliance team is responsible for anti-money laundering, counter terrorist financing, anti-bribery & corruption and sanctions risk management for bank and non-bank activities.
The role will see you:
oversee implementation of enhanced screening tools, representing Financial Crime on key forums
in consultation with the Financial Crime leadership team, draft key business requirements for screening tool uplifts
establish and oversee system tuning and calibration, at implementation and on an ongoing basis
take a strong role in transaction monitoring projects for the Retail and Institutional products
work with Macquarie's compliance, operations and business teams to streamline and consolidate AML/CTF and sanctions controls and operations.
You will bring with you substantial AML/CTF and/or sanctions/screening experience from within a large banking organisation with exposure across multiple products. You will also have:
prior financial crime technology and systems experience
prior project management and systems implementation experience
strong understanding of AML/CTF and Sanctions compliance obligations
exceptional communication skills
experience working in an Agile project delivery environment (preferred, not essential)
exceptional stakeholder management capabilities with demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders.

The Risk Management Group (RMG) is an independent, centralised unit responsible for assessing and monitoring risks across Macquarie. This includes market and liquidity risk, credit risk, compliance risk and operational risk. RMG personnel liaise closely with all operating areas to ensure risks are understood and properly managed.
