JobDescription : The Team: The S&P Global Ratings Data and Content Management team is a new team tasked with unlocking data & delivering content to our analysts and customers. The team acts as the main point of engagement with our customers on projects, including analytical partners, to discover and drive new and enhanced content creation through definitions, lineage, mapping, readiness, and inventory. The team ensures availability of content and its end-to-end completeness and quality for both internal and external use, according to our governance standards, enabling customers to make fast, informed decisions. The team sits within our Operating Office, as part of the broader Data & Content team, and works in close partnership with many teams throughout the Ratings organization (including strategic operations, technology, analytical, commercial, etc.) and cross-divisionally with CRISIL and Market Intelligence.
The Impact: You will be a Senior Data Specialist for Workflow, playing a generalist role supporting the creation of new and enhanced content, broadly supporting major initiatives in releasing content to market. You have the opportunity to grow & develop as a team member responsible for advancing, growing, and delivering the end-to-end content for our most critical financial and enterprise systems to help drive our analytic capabilities, customer satisfaction, business results and growth. You will have an expert understanding of our workflow systems, our future state workflow, and existing and future data and characteristics of our data to be able to release ratings and content to market.
Drive new and enhanced systems development to meet existing and evolving customer needs, both internal & external, and owning the delivery / realization of business value
Learn and understanding data needs and data created as part of our workflow systems, including validations and user behavior
Serve as an expert for delivering content to SPGI platforms through stage gates and finalization of data for delivery to external platforms
Work in tight coordination with the Ratings Technology team, particularly Data Services, including as part of scrum teams as necessary, to ensure project deliverables are on-time and commensurate with requirements
Set up team members for success as project owners and other stretch assignments
Manage communication & perform stakeholder management throughout the organization around cross-practice workflow systems data, including advising on how systems development and enhancements can improve content readiness, project status, customer needs, etc.
Employ governance and data quality principles and use business and operational data expertise to provide direction on the design of new workflow processes to optimize data capture and dissemination
Problem solves with Ratings Technology for orchestration of ratings, reference, and financial content, take responsibility of driving for results, and provide solutions based on best practices and new perspectives for delivering content to market
Lead change and role model and empower innovation, customer focus, and experimentation within your team
Understand internal demand for data provided to Workflow Systems and demand for workflow operational outputs, including internal operational, control, and compliance statistics
Maintain a deep knowledge of interfacing between workflow systems and partner systems to enable proper versioning and data capture at point of truth
Understand downstream impacts to workflow data and logic provided by analytical changes including criteria and guidance and their effect on calculation engines
Maintain expertise in workflow terminology and various meaning of terminology across practices and support improved uniformity for standardization of meaning
Collaborating with analysts and Ratings operations to identify opportunities and methods to improve data quality by reviewing documentation of processes and recommending deliverables.
Communicating goals and objectives; assuming responsibility for decision making; aligning team efforts; building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results; partnering with key stakeholders and business leaders to ensure products and/or services meet requirements and expectations while aligning with departmental strategies; and influencing units to operate in alignment with business objectives
Qualifications / What we're looking for
At least 5 years of content-related experience within the financial services industry
Strong domain knowledge & content expertise with S&P Enterprise datasets, systems, and ancillary products
Broad knowledge of operational principles, theories, and the business
Management experience, within proven track record of developing strong performers, particularly in content-related domain
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Agile (scrum) experience
Content product experience a plus
Data technical skills a plus (e.g. data querying, data analysis)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
