Silicon Valley Bank is looking for a Director of Corporate Development to join the team that delivers critical financial and strategic analysis for acquisitions, investments, and partnerships for Silicon Valley Bank. You will have high visibility among senior executives and business unit leaders. This role reports directly to the Co-Head of Corporate Development. This person should have the ability to implement complex cross-functional projects and clearly articulate progress to leadership.
Roles & Responsibilities
Lead market research, due diligence, valuation, structuring, and negotiation process in connection with identified acquisitions, investments, and partnerships
Support select business leaders across the organization with inorganic growth opportunities by developing investment thesis to accelerate their growth strategy
Perform market research and analysis in select industries to identify companies that fit the investment thesis
Develop and maintain pipeline of targets for various segments of the business
Build complex financial and economic models to support decisions
Author executive presentations and memos summarizing analysis and recommendations
Work effectively with cross functional support teams including legal, compliance, risk, accounting, and finance business units
Interact with all levels of management, including senior executives and develop relationships with third parties on behalf of the organization
Coach a team of Associates and Sr Associates on hard and soft skills, ranging from problem-solving, project management to writing investment memorandums and presentations
Qualifications #LI-LP1 Professional experience:
A minimum of 8 years managerial experience required, preferably within the Financial Services or Technology industries
Strategy experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience in strategy or management consulting and/or internal corporate strategic planning required
Education: Bachelor's degree and an MBA from a top business school or other graduate degree is preferred
Ability to think at a strategic level while simultaneously rolling up the sleeves to solve for key opportunities and problems
Demonstrated experience influencing across all levels of an organization
The ability to juggle multiple complex projects while maintaining an impeccable judgment and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills required
Solid negotiation skills, excellent partnering and influencing skills within an organization as well as with key outside partners
