Primary responsibilities include completing due diligence, underwriting, executing, and negotiating new transactions with a secondary focus on private equity coverage and portfolio management. The ideal candidate will be able to underwrite and execute transactions from receipt, through documentation and closing with assistance from associates and limited guidance from Directors/MDs. The team provides leveraged finance solutions to support private equity backed transactions in the life science, digital health and healthcare services sectors.
Diligence & Underwriting; Process Management
Transaction process management - manage leveraged finance transaction processes from new opportunity introduction from Director/MD to closing.
Due diligence - review target company and sponsor prepared materials including historical financials, management presentations, CIMs, financial models, etc. Review third party materials including quality of earnings, industry and technology reports. Assist associates in determining due diligence/information requirements and drive overall diligence process
Credit Memorandums - create credit memorandums and lead credit approval process for new opportunities.
Financial Modeling - review financial models from associates to ensure accuracy.
Present new opportunities at loan committee.
Prepare loan packages for approvals including utilization of existing bank systems.
Utilizes analysis and independent judgment to generate recommendation to Director/MD.
Act as primary SVB contact for portfolio companies.
Coordinate with the appropriate internal contacts on identifying and cross selling relevant products and services including treasury, FX, interest rate hedging and private banking opportunities.
Work with associates to ensure timely and accurate reporting from portfolio companies. Follow up with management teams regarding ongoing financial performance.
Manage any amendment/M&A processes for portfolio companies.
Research and analyze additional information as needed, including updating and maintaining portfolio analytics and credit statistics.
Work with associates to ensure accurate and timely portfolio review materials.
Participation on calls with private equity counterparts on new transaction opportunity assessment and execution.
Ongoing contact with portfolio company senior management teams.
