Role Summary As a key member of the EMEA CAO Governance team the role will help deliver governance related services to a number of State Street EMEA legal entities and internal governance committees and will be responsible for ensuring adherence to relevant local regulations i.e. Senior Manager & Certification Regime (SMCR) and State Street governance policies.
Major Responsibilities Contribute to maintaining a 'best-in-class' approach to corporate governance, to include:
Assistance with preparing recommendations and briefing notes on corporate governance matters, including boards and its committees
Research and awareness of industry best practice in corporate governance
Board & Committee support e.g. assisting with governance processes, liaising with non-executive directors, agenda preparation, paper dissemination, and any other activities as may be required, e.g. effectiveness evaluations.
Preparation and electronic submission of routine FCA filings
Maintenance of statutory registers and Companies House filings, including reviewing statutory accounts
Undertake governance-related project work, under guidance where necessary
Handle routine issues and queries from internal and external stakeholders, and provide advice within the established framework of the role and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Understanding of the SMCR and experience working on it in other regulated firms
Involved in governance, regulatory change and other project based initiatives in the UK, including Conduct Risk initiatives
