The primary role of the Senior Analyst - Business Continuity Management s to provide oversight and governance for the business continuity and crisis management practices occurring in TDAM. The position will be expected to work with all areas of the business to ensure appropriate business continuity and crisis management practices are in place. As such, the Position requires the incumbent to work independently and have strong leadership and communication skills.
The candidate will be responsible for:
Working with the business to obtain an indepth knowledge of its operational processes and the key systems supporting them;
Leading the development and maintenance of robust Business Continuity and Crisis Management ("BCCM") plans throughout the business;
Leading the development of tools and resources to support TDAM in the management of incidents and execution through incidents including interaction with Wealth BCCM and Technology;
Proactively monitoring changes in the business and industry crisis management processes to ensure business has leading BCCM practices; and,
Participating in the testing of regulatory and operational process controls.
S pecific Accountabilities
Develop a deep knowledge of business operations, controls and systems;
Conduct reviews of the effectiveness of key operational and regulatory processes; and,
Provide counsel to the business on improving its effectiveness.
Business Continuity Plans and Testing:
Interpret TD's Business Continuity and Crisis Management (BCCM) policies, standards and methodologies and support implementation in TDAM
Assess the design, implementation and maintenance of TDAM's internal procedures that support adherence to TD's BCCM Policy, standards & guidelines
Facilitate discussions with the TDAM businesses to create, maintain and execute Business Continuity Plans including assessing BCCM technology recovery needs
Assist TDAM businesses in their plan production in the TD ORBIT system
Using knowledge of the business and its processes, assess and challenge the quality and effectiveness of the design, implementation and maintenance of its BCM plans
Work with other members of the RPG team that support TDAM's change management processes to leverage their knowledge of changes in the business to maintain the currency of the Business Continuity strategies, plans and ultimately ensure their overall resiliency
Work with TDAM Business Services to ensure External Service Provider Relationships meet TD's BCCM requirements
Manage for the TDAM businesses, the review and challenge from Wealth Operational Risk Management on the business's plans
Define a BCCM testing protocol for TDAM that is commensurate with an Asset Management firm of its size and based on global industry standards
Facilitate and coordinate annual testing of BCCM including walk throughs, call tree tests, work from home and alternative site simulations
Provide oversight of recovery sites including hot and warm sites
Perform table top exercises under different scenarios to determine plan resiliencies
Learn from BCCM incidents in the organization and externally to proactively enhance TDAM's BCCM capabilities
Perform the Incident Management Role for all TDAM businesses in Toronto, Montreal and NY
Develop and maintain Incident Protocol(s) that are applicable to an Asset Management business including communication protocols, interaction model with Technology, and triage process to assess and manage incidents
Manage and support the resolution of day-to-day incidents
Perform oversight over and assessment of the business impact during incidents
Where the effect of an incident extends beyond TDAM, coordinate with Wealth BCCM to ensure there is the appropriate focus in TD Wealth and TD Enterprise of the needs of the TDAM businesses during the incident
Strong leadership, persuasion and communication skills
Ability to think critically and comfort with challenging the business
Superior organizational and time management skills
Good analytical skills and attention to detail
Experience in conducting reviews of control processes
Understanding and experience of a TD Wealth business in general, investment management knowledge preferred
Experience in dealing with control groups
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access software
Specific Educational Requirements/Accreditations:
Experience in or knowledge of the investment management business
Operational Risk Management experience
Exposure to control functions
Business Continuity Management Contact and Education:
Provide education and awareness of BCCM requirements to the TDAM businesses
Act as the main contact for TDAM for Wealth BCCM team (Operating Line) and Enterprise BCCM
Health & Safety:
Provide oversight of TDAM Health & Safety Program in TDAM's Toronto office including ensuring monthly floor audits and training
Provide oversight of TDAM evacuation/fire wardens in TDAM's Toronto office including coordinating the evacuation drill with building management, training Wardens, and communicating to TDAM staff
Provide oversight of TDAM First aid attendants in TDAM's Toronto office
