We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as a Managing Director, Portfolio Management and Distribution .
Formulate and lead the strategic change in business model for Portfolio Management and Distribution across the Asia Pacific region in collaboration with Global Head of Portfolio Management and Distribution and the Regional Head of Global Trade and Receivables Finance, Asia Pacific
Lead the Asia Pacific Portfolio Management and Distribution team based across the 2 hubs of Hong Kong and Singapore, and 2 local desks in India and China to deliver market leading, innovative and complex distribution structures, to support the Global Trade and Receivables Finance business strategy of safe, sustainable and profitable growth
Lead implementation of efficient capital models and levers across regional sites to ensure capital optimisation
Develop and execute the Alternate Investor strategy to support the origination strategy, in collaboration with the Global team, Risk Stewards and Asia Pacific Global Trade and Receivables Finance Executive Committee
Lead and own visibility of regional Global Trade and Receivables Finance Portfolio, enabling effective decision making to put in place levers to manage the balance sheet
Provide industry leadership in making Trade Finance an Investible Asset Class and lead efforts to digitise and standardise distribution of Trade Finance, by working with industry bodies, regulators, peers and stakeholders within the Trade business and externally
Maintain ultimate responsibility for the distribution and capital initiatives in Asia Pacific to bring in greater balance sheet velocity and deployment of capital efficiently
Ownership of the liquidity framework, working in collaboration with Asset, Liability and Capital Management team to influence and demonstrate Trade as an liquid asset class
Formulate and execute business strategies to capture new business opportunities through strategic dialogues in planning and effective pipeline management
Build and maintain strategic investor relationships, acting as the senior stakeholder for key clients and investors, championing the sales effort for the team, and maintaining a high level of client satisfaction as a trusted advisor
Provide insights and market intelligence to the Global team and Asia Pacific Global Trade and Receivables Finance Executive Committee, including competition, regulatory landscape and market trends, and to drive product enhancement and development of new business
Establish and monitor a robust governance framework, working with risk stewards and product owners, within the approved Global and Regional Portfolio Management and Distribution governance structure
Solid experience in Trade Secondary Market, Corporate Loan Syndication, Banking relationship management or Product Sales Leadership, with in-depth knowledge of global and regional distribution landscape, capital models, regulatory landscape, risk, Investor relationships, gtrf products and distribution structures
Strong leadership and management skills in a complex organizational matrix, with the proven ability to formulate and execute business strategies at pace
Experience in managing a diverse team across countries and in leading a high performance culture, gained from an international banking environment exposure
Self-driven, highly motivated and achievement oriented with an established track record in delivering business change at pace and in a complex regulatory environment
Ability to communicate and build strong working relationships at all levels of senior and executive management both within HSBC and at senior levels in customer organisation
Good level of business acumen and commercial awareness, including economic, cultural, procedural and regulatory issues
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin or other language skills will be a plus
