The UK branch represents a substantial retail and commercial bank, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the major global bank based within Europe.
The Role This is a unique position within a well-established bank sitting in the senior position of a Model Risk Governance & Control Manager. The key responsibilities required to get the best out of this role includes ensuring the internal and external requirements are met in relation to the implementation of model changes in key areas e.g. Counterparty credit risk, credit models, Structural & Liquidity and market risk models. The seniority of this role will require managing the changes of Counterparty credit risk and credit models end to end, including working closely with all key internal teams to deliver this in the most efficient way possible. Extending on from this, ensuring that models are fit for purpose as well as identifying incorrect model usage are responsibilities that will fall within this exciting opportunity. As a manger, undertaking independent reviews and challenges of the bank's modelling capabilities will be tasks lead by yourself. The multifaceted aspect of this role means that engaging with regulators e.g. ECB, PRA, Internal Audit etc. on model risk and capital related topics.
You Within this exciting senior position, you will be required to have a managerial level amount of quantitative background, ideally featuring experience of model risk management with particular focus on Counterparty credit and market risk as well as credit models. Success within this role will require an extensive amount of previous exposure to the model life cycle e.g. building, developing, monitoring, validating etc. You'll need a good amount of experience in Counterparty credit risk, ideally both quantitative and business exposure to succeed in this managerial role. This position will also require a substantial amount of knowledge around Excel/VBA/Python as well as awareness of the regulatory requirements related to this role.
