The Associate role is to support our Innovation Partners' in the delivery of all aspects of the Innovation Next program to designated member-corporates including;
Day-to-day monitoring of market conditions and key events within member's industries with particular consideration towards disruption and innovation
Groundwork and creation of data-driven research, analytics, reports, sector maps and briefings
Planning and delivery of events, experiences and executive briefings
Hunting for relevant start-ups from SVB's client base and the wider innovation landscape in order to surface relevant opportunities for members spanning investment, partnership and acquisition
Management of members' day-to-day enquiries and requests
Management of internal operations including regular team meetings, knowledge share and database management
Minimum 3-5 years+ of proven performance in investment banking, strategy consulting, venture capital/ CVC type roles or relevant startup experience.
Undergraduate degree, ideally in a numerical or analytical subject
Outstanding record of academic achievement
Deep seated interest in the broad technology/innovation ecosystem and an understanding of how the new technologies today will impact industries tomorrow
An understanding of how venture capital/ corporate venture / enterprise innovation works
Analytical, critical thinking and strong research communication skills essential, as well as the ability act independently and at speed in this fast-paced environment.
Extensive Microsoft Office skills required, MS PowerPoint and Excel especially - Tableau proficiency would be an advantage
Ability to interpret data and synthesize creative conclusions/recommendations and strategic narratives
Ability to develop strong relationships within the bank as well as senior level corporate clients - connecting the dots to identify and deliver meaningful outcomes
Evidence of demonstrating SVB values; A complete team player; dedicated to the success of SVB and not just his/her team or himself/herself; acts out of a sense of shared responsibility and ownership for the success of the entire enterprise
Self-starter with the ability to embrace an entrepreneurial orientation within a larger organization, where a roll-up-sleeves and all-hands-on-deck attitude will be essential to our collective long-term success
