Job Description The Global Investment and Client Support group is seeking to hire a Trading Support Associate in our Boston Office. You will assist the Investment team by performing all aspects of middle office operations for Trading and Portfolio Management across all asset classes. This role provides tremendous exposure to both the Trading and Investment teams as well as other departments throughout the company.
Communicate market data to traders and appropriate individuals in an accurate and timely manner. Handle all phone calls into the trading desk from sell side broker operations and sales offices, MFS Operations (back-office, pricing, and performance groups), MFS Compliance and MFS Fund Treasury area.
Confirm all daily trading activity, including Cash (Equity and Fixed Income) and Derivative securities, and is responsible for all trade capture activities on the day the trades are executed.
Generate security master records by creating securities in the Trading system prior to trades being executed.
Produce and distribute a variety of daily and monthly reports as required, including position reports, exposure reports, directors' reports, individual broker reports, graphs and performance material for client reviews and Portfolio Manager presentations.
Monitor a variety of data checks to ensure the accuracy of data within the Fixed Income Trading and accounting systems to minimize the risk of using erroneous information during any step of the investment process.
Work with outside vendors and MFS's Investment Systems Development area to implement numerous data feeds that are loaded into the Trading Systems.
Create and produce a wide variety of portfolio and index characteristic reports aimed at enhancing the investment process for all areas of MFS including the MFS Investment Management Committee.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or similar field of study.
Minimum of 2 years' of experience, preferably with at least one year in a trading environment.
Knowledge of Fixed Income securities, software packages and industry wide applications.
Ability to work independently and prioritize job responsibilities.
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
