IHS Markit is expanding its range of equity and fixed income ownership products with the launch of a new derivative dataset. This new product will be one of the first of its kind and feature exchange traded and OTC derivative ownership positions across institutions and funds. The role of derivatives portfolio research analyst will be part of IHS Markit's larger global ownership group. The ownership group curates, manages, and maintains global institution and fund ownership. The global ownership data is used by banks and corporations for prospecting, deal participation, and relationship management.
We are looking for an analyst to undertake financial research and track derivative ownership by corporations and large institutional investors. The successful candidate will be able to review financial statements and extract relevant fields. The candidate will also be exposed to other duties of maintaining a large universe of derivative ownership positions as part of IHS Markit's overall ownership team.
Examine and assess financial statements and public filings to accurately capture derivative ownership
Analyze and update derivative ownership positions and ensure the data is updated per guidelines
Maintain and track a universe of institution and fund portfolio data
Report and review findings with the head of the ownership collections process
Provide feedback and/or suggestions on ways to enhance or improve the collections efforts
1-4 years in finance, research analyst or accounting related role
Excellent qualitative analytical skills
Attention to detail
Good problem solver
BS degree or equivalent
