DPS Platform Services Strategy - Business Technologist - Vice President - New York Background: The Platform Services Strategy is a newly created team reporting into CIB Strategy and the Digital Platform Services organisation. PSS will be a multi-disciplinary team comprised of Business, Strategy and Technology SMEs. PSS's mission is to identifying and accelerating initiatives that increase the rate of technology optimization, with the purpose of reducing overall cost and delivering greater value to the franchise. PSS is equally focused on partnering with the Digital, Data, FO, Technology and Operations functions teams to deliver next-generation technologies that will deliver products and services to our clients via the financial platform of the future. Role Description: We are seeking an MD candidate to lead the Technology stripe of the PSS group. The role will report directly to the Head of PSS and sit on his mgmt. team. The successful candidate will work with CIB TLT and LOB domain experts; in a cross-business, cross-functional 'project' based environment to gather critical input to accelerate decision making on the critical CIB DPS Technology Strategy. This role is ideal for highly motivated individuals with advanced problem solving and strong interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate will have a deep technical business technologist background and have had first-hand experience in running critical projects. Responsibilities:
Managing a small group of Technology SME team
Simultaneously work on multiple initiatives across CIB DPS priorities
Establishing strong partnerships, while providing effectively challenge to colleagues from other functions across the Firm
Ability to gather details on legacy systems and formulate strong recommendations on how best to reduce CIB's technical debt.
Follows and tracks emerging and modern technologies with the view to assessing their impact on our direction
Accelerate decision making by not allowing individual matters hold PSS initiatives back
Developing & syndicating recommendations to Head of PSS
Provide training and mentoring to other non-Technology PSS team
Skills: Technical Expertise · Candidate will be a subject matter expert in system designing, architecture, testing and implementing information systems. · Able to hold detailed technical conversations with technology team members about legacy, existing and new technologies that are being leverage across the CIB · Able to gain and provide meaningful insight to on the specific focus areas · Ability to work drive key enquires for Head of PSS Problem Solving & Analysis
Ability to break down analyses and issues into their individual components
Ability to keep sight of the overall context and ensure the 'bigger' picture questions are being addressed.
Superior attention to detail with eye for spotting errors, redundancies and opportunities.
Confident speaker with ability to provide clear and succinct verbal updates on their work to colleagues and senior executives

Post Graduate/ MBA (or Bachelor degree with at least 15 years of relevant experience)
Extensive knowledge of Wholesale Financial Services
Deep software engineering and/or technology mgmt. exposure (minimum 15 years)
