Citi's Asia Consumer bank is in the midst of a significant transformation to leverage data, digital, and mobile technologies to drive a better, personalized, relevant, more cost-effective customer experience. This experience is entirely powered by data and this role is the single business owner of all of that data. The Head of Data Products role is responsible for specifying, implementing, and ensuring the commercialization of all critical data assets in Citi's consumer bank. He/she will define single source of truth and appropriate data structures across multiple domains ranging from credit cards to loans to wealth management to insurance to retail banking, spanning both transactional and behavioral data (e.g. clickstream, search, voice, chat, etc), both batch and real-time. It's a massive, foundational role. What data? How to organize it? What is the right metadata? What are the right aggregations to pre-compute? What 3rd party data to integrate? This role is essentially the "Product Manager" of all of Citi's consumer bank data. Internal customers include the data science team that will draw upon the feature library for predictive modeling; digital product (mobile app, web) and outbound campaign execution drawing upon single view of customer and array of propensity models or customer tags (e.g. "affluent") used for personalization; business analytics for ad-hoc query work across multiple markets; the business intelligence /MIS team to drive high frequency self-service reporting of business or even campaign performance. This role could expand further to include stakeholders such as the Citi Institutional Clients Group (ICG) in terms of data sharing internally to drive holistic outcomes for our clients. It may be possible to monetize data externally in terms of benchmarks or other value-added services. The role is responsible for a 100+ person direct & indirect team of data management teams in 17 markets across Asia and Europe. A dedicated 25+ FTE data / reporting layer development team and technology resources responsible for transforming and maintaining Citi's data platforms to significantly affect incremental business outcomes across all key lines of business/functions for the Consumer Bank: Retail Banking, Wealth Management, Deposit Products, Insurance, Mortgage, Marketing, Digital Banking, Small/Med Business, Credit Cards, Personal Lending, Customer Service, and more. The Head of Data Products will be a crucial evangelist for Citi's data transformation. They will face off against key senior executives as needed to ensure the transition and adoption of our next generation data platform, increasingly based on real-time information. We are seeking a strong, innovative leader that can independently create and implement a strategic vision in transforming, enhancing, and strengthening our data assets - and the business mindset to see them used for maximum benefit, across multiple stakeholders. Key elements of the role
Facilitate the establishment and execution of the roadmap/vision for information delivery and management; including the data warehouse, BI & analytics, content management, and data management
Partner with data tech. to architect and deliver the solutions that fulfill the Business information needs and align with the information vision and strategy - balancing short term and long term business needs to ensure that the architecture can scale and evolve accordingly
Complete end to end data dictionary with full meta data, lineage to source both upstream (source systems) and downstream (MIS, Models, Campaigns)
Overall data owner of all data sitting on the strategic data assets such as EAP, EventHub, DMP, COPS, etc
Engage an end-to-end approach by connecting all the pieces of data ecosystem leveraging all available assets/data
Embed/commercialize 'Real-Time data' across the bank - for contextual in the moment marketing campaigns, improving the experience through proactive service and transform processes from batch to real-time
Lead the research on new data sources, data platform/technology, and data validation, quality control, and integration - Assess the effectiveness/accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques
Development of feature libraries and modeling stack within big data platform to support rapid development and deployment of models
Has a strong external market knowledge; Understands subject matter market landscape (data management tools, DMP, digital data to name a few.) and can incorporate this knowledge into Citi's next-generation data management strategy/vision
Standardization of all critical business metrics/definitions across all 17 markets within the Asia and EMEA region and across all consumer lines of business and functions
Integration of data from the corporate bank to facilitate and enhance consumer bank's data initiatives and data layers (e.g., Customer DNA)
Facilitate the establishment and delivery of the vital data layers that will drive future commercialization of Citi's data assets such as Customer DNA, Merchant DNA, Offer Repository, Contact Repository, and Campaign Response Marts.
Identify and facilitate the monetization of the data assets both internally and externally
Expert understanding (10+ years in a related field) of data analytics, Business Intelligence, and marketing campaign lifecycle
Expert in Consumer banking products and the critical business KPI's required to manage the lines of business (credit cards, Loans, Investment products, etc.) and functions (Digital, Sales and Distribution, operations, etc.)
Expert technical (systems, coding, etc.) understanding of backend systems that are required to implement and execute self-service insights and campaign delivery (data, platforms, channels)
Expert knowledge of data operations and which automated controls are needed to maintain an enterprise data lake
Analytical knowledge to understand real-time data, metadata required to run effective targeting and it's commercialization for analytical campaigns
Hands-on experience working with real-time data ingestion/consumption incl. working knowledge of streaming platforms
Knowledge of statistical modeling - development and model deployment on enterprise platforms
Experience with creating modeling features across banking products and services
Experience with Big Data Platforms / Ecosystem (Hadoop, MongoDB, Kafka) and integration strategies for real-time data consumption
Expert with data platforms, reporting products, hands-on, obsessed with using data to drive business decisions and passionate about building compelling and engaging visualizations
Crystal-clear communication skills, able to make the complicated simple, and reach audiences across seniorities and knowledge levels to communicate key messages
Have a 'Can do' and 'Get it done' attitude - do whatever necessary and take full ownership of delivery
Experience in change management methodologies and tactics
Experience with enterprise-level budget planning and management processes
Is accustomed to managing multiple, often competing priorities to synthesize into a game plan
Experience across the full analytics stack from data storage, processing, 3rd party data enhancements, analytical techniques, and presentation layer
Well versed in data application areas ranging from operations to marketing and has been part of data-driven corporate agendas in the past
Profile and charisma of an "evangelist"; strong influence skills
