Our client is looking for an experienced and highly qualified IT Director accountable for defining and delivering IT strategy and capabilities across the enterprise. This includes data analytics and business intelligence, PMO, application architecture, development factory, support, and infrastructure. Reporting to the COO, the IT Director will be responsible for giving oversight and direction to IT and business leaders on strategy, standards, and opportunities for shared services and economies of scale. The IT Director is a key contributor to the company's strategy and planning process and will be responsible both for operating daily IT with stability and transformational digital innovation. It is critical for the IT Director to build strong and productive relationships with all business unit leaders, acting as a true partner and making IT a business enabler. The IT Director will manage total headcount in the IT organization of approximately 50 resources.
This Leader creates a clear strategic vision for information technology to support business objectives, and executes on that vision. Their key skills lie in three pillars:
Strategy & digital transformation : the incumbent will proactively advise the senior management team on the emerging technologies and digital trends that are most relevant to the company's goals and evolving needs. This is not an 'operate only' role: the IT Director is expected to have the capacity to operate the daily IT with stability while transforming the function;
Leadership and team development: the IT Director develops an IT vision, strategy, and a roadmap, and lead the IT team and its business partners in effective execution and fosters a culture of innovation, transparency and accountability in IT;
IT Operations & Technical Acumen: must understand and direct a hybrid IT environment and be able to establish appropriate service levels and the processes to ensure that KPIs are met.
THE CANDIDATE PROFILE
At least 10+ of career experience in technology (ideally as a skilled software Developer) including a minimum of 6 years in a leadership position. An experience in a CIO or equivalent position is preferred;
Demonstrated experience driving digital transformation and business growth through innovation and the implementation of technology;
Possesses solid knowledge in emerging technologies, and the ability to apply these in the service of our client's key business goals;
Able to work collaboratively with diverse leaders in a high performing culture, communicate an IT vision and strategy across all levels of the organization, and build consensus around key initiatives and projects;
Knowledge of a range of vendor technology solutions; able to select and integrate the most appropriate technologies to support the business;
Demonstrated ability to recruit, hire and motivate a high performing IT team that values transparency and accountability;
Experience designing and managing an effective IT governance framework across the spectrum of IT service delivery;
Strong core Java development experience;
Fluent in English, French and German are a plus;
Effective leader with proven experience managing large IT Team;
Possesses exceptional business acumen, analytical and problem-solving abilities, in particular in financial services;
Proven ability to build trust with others through a commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards;
A high energy executive; tenacious and passionate about reaching the goal, while keeping ego in check;
Possesses exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written; able to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences;
