JobDescription : Context & Background: S&P Global Ratings Division Data & Content is at a pivotal moment in its journey. As the Ratings Division business strategy evolves with a greater customer and growth focus, our data & content teams have a mandate for transformation to (1) lead end-to-end real time flow of our Ratings IP through the Ratings value chain, (2) modernize and upgrade processes, with a focus on deploying new technologies, (3) evolving our teams, talent and culture to enable and support a future-oriented mission statement to enable Ratings IP into the market in real-time.
The Team: The S&P Global Ratings Data Operations team is instrumental to unlock data & deliver content to our analysts and customers. The team sits within our Operating Office, part of the broader Data & Content team and works in close partnership with many teams throughout the Ratings organization (including strategic operations, technology, analytical, commercial, etc) and cross-divisionally with CRISIL and Market Intelligence. The team manages and maintains the data and content value stream, managing engagement of vendors, offshore operations and our automated processes for sourcing, collection, extraction, linking, transformation and dissemination, while filling in gaps in our policies and processes to ensure delivery of available, secure, high-quality, end-to-end content for use by our analysts, issuers, intermediaries, and investors.
The Impact: You will be the S&P Global Ratings Head of Data Operations, play a key role on the Head of Data & Content's leadership team, and serve as the primary owner for managing processes driving fundamental, ratings, and reference data and content value streams. You have the opportunity to develop capabilities around making our data value chain processes efficient through the management of vendor relations, partnerships, workflow management, process improvement, and automation. You will lead a transformation around the re-designed Data Operations Team responsible for delivering the end-to-end data and content flow feeding Ratings' analytic processes, enhancing customer satisfaction, and driving business results and growth through the timely delivery of financial, ratings, and reference data. Act as member of the Data and Content Organization Leadership team, working closely with stakeholders across Ratings and the divisions, integrating Ratings into the S&P Global Data strategy, including use of best practices, capabilities and global frameworks

Design communication & perform stakeholder management throughout the organization and cross-practice around Ratings' reference, ratings, and fundamentals data
Understand global, cross-practice, and cross-divisional customer content needs and trends, both internal & external
Build Strong and Effective Partnerships with SPGI Data, Technology, Innovation (DTI), Other SPGI Divisions (i.e. Kensho), and Ratings Technology to Build our Capabilities and Enrich Insights
Lead engagement with partners in Market Intelligence data factory and CRISIL supporting the delivery of data disseminated to our analytic processes and commercial products
Partner closely with Content & Data Enablement teams to ensure all areas of the business have an efficient, streamlined, and high quality end-to-end value chain
Develop and maintain close partnerships with Ratings Analytical, CRISIL, and Market Intelligence "vendor affiliate" teams to ensure high-quality, timely, and comprehensive data are delivered for analytical, methodological, and content generation processes, including the generation and monitoring of Service Level Agreements to manage performance
Partner with the Head of Data Enablement to eliminate waste within the data delivery value stream and automate repeatable processes to improve throughput and provide capacity for day-to-day operations and project work
Build strong global partnerships between content, quality and governance, and enablement teams as well as across Ratings (including analytical, technology, and commercial) and SPGI divisions
Drive, through your teams, engagement with the content and analytical organizations, enabling project execution to strengthen timeliness, quality, and coverage of the data value stream
Embody Operating Excellence by Leading a World-Class Data Operations Unit Capable of Delivering Ratings Content at the Speed of Markets
Maintain the highest-quality data pipeline for analytic, methodological, and content generation, serving day-to-day customer needs and owning processes regarding data sourcing, collection, ingestion, extraction, transformation, and delivery to analytical systems
Lead and oversee day to day duties regarding global data operations of a team of more than 300, including oversight of ratings, reference, issuance, default, recoveries, participants, and financial data processing for ratings transactions and external content. These responsibilities include management of the process validating the implementation, optimization and reconciliation of all data provided for analytical and methodological processes.
Serve as the main point of escalation for day-to-day ratings process data operations and ticket and inquiry management
Ensure data handbooks and business rules are up-to-date and follow necessary data governance, data quality, and analytical needs
Monitor global team capacity for the purpose of managing variance in project work associated with data sourcing, collection, extraction, and transformation for criteria and/ or new content generation projects.
Provide ad-hoc reporting regarding data operation metrics and ensure automated reporting for data operations as well as regular analytic, controls, and compliance review are maintained and updated
Strong experience in a range of management and leadership roles across Data, content, and/or product
Proven track record as a leader for developing high performing and strong execution teams, particularly in content-related domain
Strong domain knowledge & content expertise within Credit Rating Agencies a significant plus
Ability to quickly build credibility and relationships across multiple global teams
Ability to work effectively across teams, foster collaboration, and navigate a complex organization with a high level of EQ
Aptitude to communicate and deliver on multiple projects simultaneously, strong prioritization and organization skills
Highly developed skills in influencing and navigating a complex, global organization to executive level
Advanced communication skills. This includes the ability to simplify complex concepts and messages to the essential components and deliver these effectively to a wide range of audiences
Advanced problem solving skills. Able to quickly identify and understand issues and drive towards effective resolution
At least 5 years of data and/or operations focused experience, within financial services a plus
At least 7 years of relevant experience, including significant team leadership & management
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree preferred
