Job Description Reports to the Director, Operations Controls & Governance of IT & Operations Performance, Hong Kong, the incumbent is accountable for managing Individual Insurance Operations quality assurance programs and helping business units to effectively and consistently manage their risks. As a subject matter expert, the individual is expected to contribute to development and delivery of business and operational improvement initiatives and provide high quality, value-added recommendations to relevant policies, processes and tools. In addition, he/she will work with Senior Management executing quality control initiatives and will interface with second and third lines of defense teams.
Support assessment of completeness and effectiveness of key controls (incl. QA).
Report on key risk indicators (KRIs) and incidents.
Promote use of Archer and helps ensure the quality of Archer entries.
Coordinate risk and control activities, promote good practices and share intelligence (e.g. fraud trends).
Support deployment of risk assessment frameworks.
Key Result Areas:
Manage the Individual Insurance Operations team on operational risks and quality management with controls and measures to ensure compliance with day-to-day regulatory requirements.
Resolve key process controls matters with good compliance in a professional manner.
Formulate internal policies and programs to help develop staff and organizational capabilities.
Identify, develop and deliver operational quality assurance programs for improved operational efficiency across Hong Kong Individual Insurance Operations.
Coordinate between various stakeholders, such as compliance, risk and audit teams to support process or controls improvement initiatives to meet global and local regulations.
Take the lead to implement new regulations and quality control initiatives.
Experience & Qualifications:
University degree in legal or compliance disciplines with appropriate insurance qualifications
Over 12 years' experience in operational risk management/quality management/program management in the Financial Services sector
PMP or Six Sigma Black Belt qualification is highly preferred
Work experience in the life insurance industry would be an advantage
Strategic thinking with visionary insight and attention to details
Excellent execution/program management
Proficient analytical and project management skills
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Sound knowledge of insurance products and financial markets with solid MIS capability
Passionate with excellent can-do attitude and agility
Demonstrated strong planning, organizing, leadership and change management capabilities
