Investment Banking Division (IBD) works on some of the most complex financial challenges and transactions in the market today. Whether advising on a merger, providing financial solutions for an acquisition, or structuring an initial public offering, we handle projects that help clients at major milestones. We work with corporations, pension funds, financial sponsors, and governments and are team of strong analytical thinkers, who have a passion for producing out-of-the-box ideas.
Hybrid Capital Team (Banks, Insurance and Corporates) sits within the Financing Group in the Investment Banking Division and covers all aspects of hybrid debt financing for financial institutions and corporates.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS HOW YOU WILL FULFIL YOUR POTENTIAL
- Work closely with Debt Capital Markets coverage teams within the Financing Group covering clients directly as well as on specific transactions (principally debt issuance) - Also work closely with "Classic" Investment Banking teams on specific transactions (e.g. M&A transactions requiring financing) as well as covering FIG clients directly - With respect to hybrid financing for financial institutions and corporates our team is heavily involved from origination through to execution in conjunction with coverage teams, fixed income syndicate and sales and trading - A core focus of our financial institutions business is regular client coverage on all aspects of regulatory and rating agency requirements to identify client needs and originate transactions, For example, our regular client dialogue on the banks side focuses heavily on regulatory developments (e.g. Basel III / Basel III reforms), bail-in-able capital (TLAC and MREL)) as well as our clients' positioning with rating agencies - Similarly we provide regular ongoing coverage to corporates on rating agency developments as well as how they are positioned with respect to peers and the myriad of ratings requirements
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Strong academic record with Bachelor's degree, equivalent or above required - Current experience in an investment banking position required - Investment banking/financial services industry experience required - Strong experience with debt capital markets and liability management required - Transaction experience should include corporates, sovereigns and supranational and financial institutions - Familiarity with tenders, exchange offers, consent solicitations required - Experience with reporting, corporate finance analysis, financial statement analysis, corporate analysis and financial modelling required - Knowledge of currencies, capital structure/debt optimisation strategies, refinancing and risk management processes required - Familiarity with listed derivatives, market clearing; debt origination and research based tasks required - Proficiency with MS Office package and knowledge of financial market databases Bloomberg/Reuters etc. required - Strong written and verbal communication skills required - Must be a collaborative team player
