The Group Portfolio Development team screens investment opportunities, executes M&A transactions and manages the investment portfolio for the Holding Company in its ambition to invest significant funds to build up and manage a new business pillar. The prioritized investments areas include chemicals and new energy solutions. Further, the Group Portfolio Development team supports the Board in the development and performance tracking of strategic plans.
For our Hamburg based department we are looking for an Investment Associate (m/f/d) at the earliest possible starting date.
Independently perform investment research on potential target companies and on target markets
Utilize sophisticated analytical tools and applications to support the investment management process
Develop and present investment recommendations to the senior management and board
Develop recommendations for improvement of the investment portfolios
Establish complex financial models and analyze relevant legal documents
Building and maintain network with fund managers and industry professionals
Maintain up to date documentation of all investment relationships
MS degree in finance, accounting or other relevant field. Preferably CFA qualification or equivalent
Previous relevant working experience as investment or equity research professional in a bank, private equity firm, fund or similar. Sector focus on commodities/ chemicals would be an advantage
Knowledge of and experience in equity capital market transactions
Strong analytical, quantitative and conceptual capabilities, willingness and capability to go beyond the obvious as well as ability to think ahead and catch problems before they arise
Entrepreneurial thinking and able to act in a fast moving environment
High social competence and communication skills within international setting, team player with ability to drive change
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English, German would be a plus
