Job Purpose: There are a number of process and systems development projects taking place within both within EMEA Finance and the organization as a whole. Both within the EMEA region and globally, these encompass both business-driven initiatives and major Finance-driven Programs and Projects, arising from a combination of factors including: -
Regulatory mandated changes driven by most recent Basel lII/CRD V Regulations and Directives.
The rapidly changing business environment in which the firm operates.
The integration challenges resulting from recent merger activity.
The constant need to develop both systems and processes to enhance efficiency and further strengthen the current control environment.
The EMEA Finance Regulatory Project Leadership main roles are to:
Work with the relevant line areas to progress and implement Finance-sponsored projects and initiatives
Represent Finance in a number of other initiatives, sponsored by the regulator, business or other support areas
Support ongoing transformation and digitalization efforts across the region.
Maintain a system "strawman" for Finance across the EMEA region and ensure that any systems change, either globally or at regional level, is consistent with that strawman
Direct the Technology budget/spend at projects and systems initiatives that will give the biggest benefit to Finance
Construct, maintain and test Finance's Continuity of Business plans The new Project Manager to work as part of the Budapest Finance Regulatory Project Leadership Team. Job Background: Finance Regulatory Project Leadership Team in Budapest is seeking to strengthen an appropriate group structure to provide ongoing support of global and regional regulatory Programs as they impact Finance. The person recruited for this role will report to the Budapest Lead Program Manager, and will interface with other members of the Finance organization across regions, on individual projects, according to current priority. The person will manage a large number of individuals from other areas who are working on the project, from Technology, Finance, Data and from other line areas to deliver Program Streams within scope, schedule and budget.
The type of projects/work covered will include:
Develop in coordination with Program Manager and relevant stakeholders detailed project plans, schedules, task lists, risk registers and clear short and long-term approaches to achieve Project Stream objectives.
Coordinate interaction and inputs of organization stakeholders in harmonized fashion with clear buy-in and understanding of risks and dependencies.
Ability to deep dive into Finance, Risk, Technology and Data topics without losing 'high level picture' and to tailor communication appropriately.
Understand and follow Project Management processes as mandated/required.
Implementation of a complex projects with multiple systems and processes involved.
Contribute to a new system and process strategy.
Suggest and initiate new projects with the Finance and/or Risk functional area that is supported
Drive for implementation of standard processes with the utilization of standard data.
Monitor and track delivery of activity against milestones, including managing dependencies across related projects.
Coordinate the discussions with Finance, Risk, Technology, Local Regulatory Reporting Global Process Owners Team, Chief Data Office Data Services and other key partners on aligning the messaging on the initiative / function supported. 5+ years of experience as Project Manager / PMO / Business Analyst (essential)
Experience dealing with different stakeholder groups (including Technology Teams, Internal Audit, Senior Management, etc.) (essential)
Prior experience within the Finance / Banking industry (essential)
Excellent and thorough knowledge of the Finance products / Finance systems infrastructure (preferred)
Good accounting, P&L and Financial / regulatory reporting knowledge (preferred)
Good knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements (Basel III / CRD IV) and the changing regulatory landscape (CRR II), trends in the industry (preferred)
Prior experience in Local Regulatory Project Management (preferred) Skills:
Practical and theoretical knowledge in Project Management processes (essential)
Solid written and verbal communication skills, with ability to engage and communicate to different level of stakeholders across the organization and clearly set the end-state vision to be achieved (essential)
Knowledge of / interest in Financial Processes and Systems (essential)
Demonstrated ability to build high performing teams with or without direct oversight (essential)
Advanced level of understanding key financial measures / concepts on products, e.g. Profit/loss, Balance Sheet Accounting and Internal Control (preferred)
Strong analytical skills required, experience with budgets and financial analysis preferred (essential). Qualifications: The successful candidate will preferably hold a master's degree in Finance/Economics/Accounting and a qualification related to project management (PMP, Prince 2, etc.). If no qualifications currently held, the desire to complete an accounting/similar qualification would be an advantage. Professional qualifications are not a pre-requisite for the performance of this role.
