Work on a variety of debt advisory transactions as described above in all stages, from initial client pitches to transaction closing;
Supporting other parts of the firm, notably the Restructuring Advisory and M&A practices in the UK, in particular on debt related matters, financial modelling and business plan analysis;
Key debt advisory transaction related activities will include supporting senior members in the practice with: i) handling the new internal transaction/client "take on" process, ii) review and analysis of transaction material and due diligence reports, iii) preparation of, and working with, financing models, iv) preparation of 'teasers' and information documents for prospective lenders, v) negotiating NDAs with prospective lenders vi) coordinating Q&A and management presentations with lenders, and vii) assist with term sheet preparation and negotiations;
Ensure quality of client deliverables by having a strong attention to detail;
Secondary activities, aside from transaction related activities, will include market research and tracking of market trends, maintenance of loan databases, and preparation of pitch books and other general marketing presentations.
Min. B.Sc / B.A equivalent qualifications from a reputable UK/European university;
2-5 years' experience in Leveraged Finance or Debt Advisory with demonstrable debt structuring experience;
Excellent English language skills (written and spoken);
Strong analytical and credit analysis skills;
Sound understanding of, and ability to analyse, key accounting statements including P&L, BS and CF;
Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
Excellent financial modelling skills in Excel with a good foundation of building (and working with) operational and/or finance models, including analysing business forecasts, evaluating scenario analysis and covenant calculations;
A broad perspective of debt market trends and popular financing instruments and their key features;
Ability to work quickly and accurately under time pressure;
Ability to work effectively in a team and to communicate articulately with colleagues and clients.
