As a Policy Advisor you will be responsible for developing policy options and making recommendations across the full range of ADI (Authorised Deposit Institutions/Banking) prudential policy, including the content of prudential standards and prudential practice guides.
The role is focussed on policy for the whole ADI sector through and involved running consultations both internally, and externally with other government agencies and industry groups.
You will also be involved in:
Developing and reviewing policy through consultation with stakeholders and relevant experts, to ensure APRA policies can address prudential issues as they arise;
Identifying opportunities for new projects and making recommendations to the Senior Manager, Policy Development on policy initiatives;
Managing projects effectively and efficiently ensuring on time delivery of outcomes;
Preparing briefing papers and submissions to ensure timely and accurate responses to policy issues raised by stakeholders and other agencies;
Responding to requests for advice and/or interpretation of existing policy, practice and procedure;
Liaising with key stakeholders within APRA and from the government and the financial sector, on policy issues to ensure that policy development is reflective of current market developments and stakeholder needs; and providing advice and assistance to key stakeholders on all matters relating to ADI policy development.
As our ideal candidate you will have:
A strong tertiary qualification in Finance/Law;
In-depth knowledge of the ADI industry, or the wider financial services sector;
Excellent written, communication and consultation skills, including stakeholder management capabilities; and
Highly developed organisational and priority management skills and the ability to work autonomously.
The successful applicant must also be an Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen and complete background and security clearances. We are ideally looking for someone with a background in ADI/Financial Services and policy development.
