Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Manager, Insurance Risk .
Consolidation of risk reporting information and risk maps across the region.
Support risk investigations on specific risk issues across insurance risk matters.
Assist in the coordination with regional and local risk stewards to understand and address risk related issues across wider risk categories.
Support local risk teams with resource and subject matter expertise as required.
Assisting in ensuring consistency of risk processes, reporting and management of exposures and issues across the region.
Develop monthly and quarterly commentaries on customer group reports for submission to Retail Banking and Wealth Management, Insurance and Group stakeholders.
Develop and recommend changes and improvements to operating models, procedures and practices based on subject matter expertise and understanding of the bank and market best practice.
Manage and mitigate operational risks in their day to day operations.
Understand your position within the Three Lines of Defence, and act accordingly in line with operational risk policy, escalating in a timely manner where unsure of actions required.
Demonstrated ability to perform work accurately and with attention to details.
Degree from an accredited university.
Extensive experience in the insurance sector or relevant equivalent.
Knowledge of Market practices. Asia Insurance Industry desirable.
Good financial analysis, time management and organizational skills.
Proven self starter, enthusiastic and a team player.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Actuarial skillset is not a requirement but will be supported if required.
Strong project management, PowerPoint presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
