We are currently looking for an experienced Team Leader / Research Project Manager to join the Research & Client Insights team. You will be an integral part of the Research & Client Insights team which is a global function.
T he team designs and delivers global research programmes across the B2B (CIB and CB) and Private Banking client segments, providing strategic inputs to the business from both clients and staff. The programme of work spans studies run by external agencies, core annual/semi-annual studies run in-house as well as ad-hoc projects to meet a specific need. As Project Manager you will be responsible for managing the team of Research Analysts to ensure the successful delivery of research projects from fieldwork to analysis and reporting. You will be excited by data and enjoy data analysis, with the curiosity to uncover the insights within survey results. You will be experienced at using survey results and insights to create reporting decks that deliver the key messages to senior stakeholders. You are likely to be currently working within a research agency, looking for a chance to move to a research team within a client organization where you can have more visibility of the impact of research findings on business decisions.
Your two core responsibilities will be firstly to manage the successful execution of the studies that we run in-house and secondly to lead the analyst team (currently 3 analysts) responsible for delivery, developing their skills and research understanding so that we have a successful, efficient, high functioning team. The first area of research execution involves active outreach to internal stakeholders both to confirm survey samples and to track and encourage survey completion. We have a track record of achieving very high success rates for surveys (>60% online), in large part due to the project management activities led by this role. The role also encompasses data analysis and insights generation. Your experience with research survey management, data analysis, insights generation and story-telling will enable you to be effective in this role.

Annual Client Feedback studies for CIB and CB segments globally where we capture feedback from client decision makers, network managers, treasurers etc on the strength of our strategic and transactional relationships
Annual Client Feedback studies for Private Banking HNW clients to capture their feedback on their relationship with the bank
Ad-hoc research studies into the usage of specific products and services among clients
Syndicated (third party) studies run by external agencies which help us to understand our market positioning relative to competition
Synthesis of research findings from multiple sources along with business data to create deeper insights at a client level

The Role Responsibilities
Lead the analyst team for successful survey execution, assigning tasks, setting priorities, managing timelines and workload
Work closely with Research Managers throughout, confirming priorities, timelines and targets
Specifically for survey execution: oversee the analyst interactions with in-country business coordinators for survey launch, confirming client lists and managing queries to ensure that client research studies progress as planned.
Lead survey communications to clients, always protecting client personal data. Oversee the process of sending invites, reminders, response tracking, status reporting and sharing of feedback including red flag management
Liaise with professional market research agencies for survey setup, status monitoring and interim reporting
Monitor achievement of research goals by compiling stats and reports for Research Managers and business managers to ensure that surveys meet the response targets and demographics that we have set
Develop analysis models and communications materials to share research results with countries and with business heads, working closely with Research Managers
Translate survey results into insights to improve marketing and product strategies for CIB, TB, FM, CPB etc
Participate in country results briefings, working to ensure that the survey results are understood by in-country teams
Our Ideal Candidate
Graduate in a numerate discipline, Masters preferred. Statistics, Marketing or Business Administration is preferred, or at a minimum a speciality which developed research skills
Minimum 10 years research experience ideally from agency-side
Minimum 5 years team-leader experience, directing, motivating, coaching and developing highly motivated and effective teams of research analysts
Minimum 4 years experience delivering multi-country and ideally global research projects. Excel lent project management skills, good prioritization, able to identify issues and risks to project progress and to seek help when needed for continued progress
Minimum 2 years experience dealing with senior level stakeholders in client organisations
Experience running surveys with hard to reach audiences and specifically with B2B and HNW segments
Experience of financial services and the Corporate / Institutional banking product array including Cash, Trade, FX, Securities Services, Corporate Advisory etc
Expert knowledge of Statistical software packages such as SPSS, SAS, with knowledge of Qualtrics and Q (critical), Excel & PowerPoint (critical requirement)
Programming experience is a strong positive, either SAS or Excel VBA macros
A natural team player, with a clear client orientation and a passion for service excellence
Very strong communication skills: ability to build clear and effective communications that drive action
Adept at statistical analysis and modelling: ability to build hypotheses, synthesize information from different sources and extract key themes / messages from detailed data
Ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization - with team, senior executives, and middle management
Experience in leading teams of early-career staff, building a motivated and energetic team and focusing on the skills development and engagement of the team members, creating a positive and proactive culture
Self-starter, comfortable working independently. Detailed oriented with strong work ethics
Comfortable to work in a relatively unstructured, project-based and multi-cultural environment
Willing to travel for work - typically 2-3 day trips within the Asia region approximately once per quarter
