Our ICBC Solutions Group division develops and manages strategic relationships with large corporate clients.
The mission of the Client Coverage team within the China and ICBC Structured Finance Solutions division is to establish long-term relationships with the clientele or top economic and financial decision-makers.
Our role is to promote and provide all the services and expertise of the Bank (i.e.) investment banking solutions and the promotion of our global market product suite to all clients.
The division plays a core role in enhancing business collaboration across the ICBC Standard Bank Plc network to help our clients develop their businesses by finding new opportunities and/or finding solutions to their challenges.
Our purpose is to develop client coverage to a portfolio of clients in China.
Key resposibilities expected from this role:
Support ICBCS in terms of customer relationship management and customer liaison.
To facilitate information exchanging between ICBCS and the clients in China.
Maintain a close relationship with clients of China and continuously explore new business opportunities in both Hong Kong and China.
Provide effective and smooth communication with clients and improve performance by driving revenue origination at commercial level.
Maintain a good understanding the full suite of ICBCS product and service offerings at all times.
Expand cross-selling. Link the regional value propositions and opportunities to the ICBCS franchise offering by continuously analysing the geographic value propositions and aligning those with the ICBCS franchise offering so as to ensure that the relevant clients and opportunities for ICBCS are identified and coordinated.
Ensure effective access to relevant clients and ensure total ICBCS franchise solution is offered.
Liaise with ICBC head office to provide access to key strategic decision makers of core China clients of ICBC to introduce the investment banking team in the delivery of non-China strategic and capital market opportunities.
Where required, work closely with the Sales and Product teams or traders of ICBCS to refer clients for clarification on specifications of ICBCS products. Negotiation of material elements of contracts or concluding of contracts between the clients and ICBCS will be handled directly by the relevant ICBCS product team (based outside the PRC）.
Provide coverage analysis of key Chinese background clients in China and Hong Kong.
Collaborate with all team members of China and International Coverage teams ensuring continual client revenue growth.
Contribute to the creation of new business opportunities by closely linking the onshore clients with ICBCS product capacity.
To ensure the highest standard of care is applied to the compliance of all rules and regulations applicable to the success of this role and the ICBCS business.
To maintain a high level of professional integrity at all times.
To ensure semi-annual Attestations are provided and all requests for administrative verification are responded to promptly and accurately.
All discussions with clients onshore in China will be subject to the licensing restriction for ICBC Standard Bank in China, which prohibit the marketing of banking, securities or derivative products.
Knowledge, technical skills and expertise:
Proven Chinese client success
Require specific market expertise of understanding project finance and structured finance (power and other infrastructure projects).
Understanding derivatives and hedging products will be critical.
Numerical and have knowledge on derivatives financial instruments
Knowledge of sales and execution of markets client business
Detailed technical knowledge of some financial and/or commodity markets products
Success in providing full range of markets products to leading corporate clients
Success in building trusted advisor type relationships with leading corporate clients
Working in ambiguity
Understanding of FCA rules and regulations or equivalent
Understanding of risk and control
Knowledge of emerging markets
