Department Profile Corporate Services (CS) provides best-in-class commercial services to the Firm and its employees to enable productivity, efficiency and an enhanced employee experience. They deliver standardized services which can be scaled globally and delivered locally. The department has over 5,000 staff managing a multi-billion dollar scope of services including Real Estate and Location Strategy; Real Estate Portfolio and Transaction Management; Property Management; Corporate Travel; Corporate Security & Investigations (CSI); Corporate Information Management; Regional Client Services; and Office of the COO.
Function Profile The global management of CSI is headquartered in New York City and oversees four regional offices with responsibility for all offices/branches located in the Americas, Europe, Japan and the Asia Pacific region. The CSI global team comprises of experienced professionals with prior law enforcement, military, intelligence, risk consulting & security industry experience and are located in New York, London, Hong Kong, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Singapore and Tokyo. CSI overseas key risk management functions like Client & Supplier Due Diligence, Pre-Employment Screening, Fraud Investigation, Security Technology and Security Operations.
Sub-Function Profile The Security Operations (SecOps) team's key responsibilities include investigations, staff & office security, travel security, crises management and fire & life safety. The team uses a risk-based approach to deliver best-in-class security & safety for all staff. The team is led by three coverage heads based in India, Hong Kong (overseeing North Asia - China, the regional headquarters in Hong Kong and Taiwan) and Singapore (overseeing South East Asia - Australia, Seoul, Jakarta and Singapore).
Reporting & Responsibilities This position will provide leadership and management oversight to the SecOps team in North Asia and will functionally report into the Asia Pacific head of SecOps within CSI.
Key responsibilities include: -Supervise physical security of all MS locations in North Asia. -Lead and/or support investigations and recovery of wire frauds for locations in North Asia. -Lead and/or support the response to security and life safety incidents in North Asia in close coordination with Business Continuity Management and other stakeholders. -Develop and implement security policies and procedures for all current/future sites in North Asia. -Maintain and develop the professional standards of security staff in the region. -Manage guarding vendors in the region and ensure compliance to KPIs and SLAs. -Conduct security audits and risk assessments of Morgan Stanley premises and vendor sites. -Coordinate with the regional FLS lead for all fire and emergency evacuation drills and proactively maintain an understanding of relevant local security laws and fire codes. -Develop and implement event security plans for periodic investor summits and any other events/meetings taking place in the region. -Act as a representative for CSI, establish and maintain working relationships with internal business units, building management, and government agencies. -Support CSI technical team in design, deployment and assessment of security systems in the region. -Manage special projects, research and assignments related to loss prevention and security. -Support vendor selection, management and contract negotiations in compliance with relevant internal policies. -Support other CS and CSI functions as and when required by CSI management.
-8+ years of leadership experience in corporate security, risk consulting, law enforcement, military or intelligence. -Excellent written and spoken English. -Strong people and process management skills. -Collaborative personality who is able to work with diverse teams and across silos to manage complex issues. -In-depth understanding of geopolitical and security issues within the region. -Experience in managing crises on site and remotely. -Experience in conducting complex investigations and writing reports. -Proven capability to deliver presentations/briefings to senior stakeholders. -Established network in law enforcement and the corporate security industry. -Willing to work outside of normal office hours and travel when required. -Preferred experience, skills, qualifications: o Written and spoken Mandarin and Cantonese language
o Prior experience in managing security within the financial sector o Prior experience in managing Fire & Life Safety within a MNC o Bachelor's degree (focus on Criminal Justice, Law, or Business) o Relevant security or investigations related professional certification (e.g., CPP, CFE)
