My client, a global institutional banking and financial services organisation is seeking an organised, analytical individual with an understanding of the regulatory landscape with focus in risk governance and/or models to join their team in Poland.
The jobholder will continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology. This will be achieved by ensuring all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring. Also, by addressing any areas of concern in conjunction with line management and/or the appropriate department.
Job Spec * Preparation of submissions and requests for information to regulators, including robust challenge and driving improvements where required * Provide the business with timely communication of regulatory engagement, priorities and other relevant developments; acting as a trusted conduit between the regulator and internal stakeholders * Proactive engagement on regulatory change across Wholesale and Traded Risk; providing regulatory advice and support to the business * Strong support of all regulatory and compliance matters and the management of operational risk * Strong organization and strategic prioritization across several regulatory requests on different subjects and long different timelines * The major challenge of the role is to maintain a positive regulatory relationship despite frequent changes in the external regulatory environment and while meeting the expectations and requirements of the internal business. * Strong analytical skills on both a strategic and technical level. The jobholder must be able to provide robust challenge to documentation provided by the business to ensure it meets regulatory demands and is of a robust standard. * Strong organisational skills will be key in managing frequent dialogue and regulatory requests on several different subjects. Working across a large number of internal stakeholders and meeting deadlines is of great importance. * The role has significant interaction with the Prudential Regulatory Authority and other relevant international regulators and policymakers. The jobholder must be articulate and discreet in relation to challenging and sensitive areas.
Skills and Qualifications * Good knowledge of the regulatory landscape particularly relating to Risk governance and/or models; Previous experience in a Regulatory Capital policy function would be valued * Relevant working experience in a bank, rating agency, consultancy or advisory firm * Experience of dealing with regulators preferred * Some understanding of statistics and concepts of the risk modelling process advantageous * Ability to lead, manage and successfully deliver within the agreed time scale, in liaison with all relevant stakeholders: model owners, business, finance, senior management and regulator * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Manages self to deliver own work within timelines * Flexibility to work with colleagues and key stakeholders in an international team
