Job Description The mission of the Deal Closing and Portfolio Monitoring department is, but is not limited to: Control transactions to ensure that they are fully compliant with the authorisations given and requirements made by the Credit Committee, at both structuring and implementation stages. Assess and manager operational risks - in liaison with the Risk Department. Carry out transaction monitoring until maturity. Provide support and expertise to the Front Office at all stages during the life of a transaction, as well as to provide the Back Office with thoroughly documented instructions. Monitor all regulatory and compliance obligations that have been carried out within their designated timeframe (including KYC). As such it offers both first level control to secure business development and provides the Business lines with business support thanks to its technical expertise in the setting up of transactions and day to day management. To ensure day-to-day support is given across all businesses - both for new and existing credit facilities. Establishing all day-to-day activities known/discussed and allocated in line with departmental procedures/processes and systems used (query log/DCPM email mailbox) [shared]. Ensure that all post-closing actions are duly executed/recorded in the banks systems (including departmental Middle Office Workbook) - in addition to the completion of all associated check sheets [shared]. Ensure that both new and periodic covenants (financial and compliance) are duly analysed and processed in a timely manner and in accordance with departmental procedures (physical recording/input in Loan IQ), [shared]. Take responsibility for monitoring the production of the monthly covenant, activity and waiver reports for all business lines [shared]. Deal security packages are duly analysed with any collaterals duly booked in the banks systems with all the associated reviews and follow up monitoring - scheduled activity plus other collateral reports. (Physical recording/input in Loan IQ), [shared]. Reviewing and commenting on deal structures and facility documentation, at both structuring and closing stages (and post-closing follow up) to ensure both feasibility of the deal and to ensure that the terms duly comply with the credit approvals and term sheet [shared]. Providing support for all prospective ad current Facility Agency roles [shared]. The role will require the establishment of effective partnerships with all Front Office as a key stakeholder as well as teams in several areas of the bank in different capacities (Risk/Finance/BO etc). To take responsibility for maintaining the highest quality data, as well as understanding and adhering to credit policy developments and escalating appropriate queries. This will include detailed statistics for use on the (monthly) dashboard and management portfolio reporting. Financing departments include; Strategic Sectors & Distribution - Aviation, Infrastructure, Real Estate Financing and Global Energy & Commodities (for cross border activities). Investment Banking: Corporate Coverage, Acquisition and Strategic Finance and Financial Institutions and Public Sector (FIPS).
Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience Good level awareness of Investment/Corporate Banking and its products. Working practice of LoanIQ (Finastra). Facility documentation knowledge is essential, especially the treatment/monitoring of financial covenants and security packages. Strong decision-making capabilities and the ability to identify problems and propose solutions - and then follow through any raised issues to the relevant parties where needed. Ability to deliver value-added support to business partners in a dependable, timely and accurate manner. Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to accept new assignments and challenges in a rapidly changing environment. Good communication and relationship/partnership-building skills both with team members as well as other business partners. Ability to interact confidently with all levels of stakeholders. Strong attention to detail with a control and risk discipline mindset, takes ownership and is accountable for area of responsibility. Strong PC skills in Microsoft Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Office 365). Ability to use web-based technology effectively.
