Join the customer facing arm of Westpac Institutional Bank Perth or Sydney Based Collaborative Global Team
How will I help? We have a clear vision here at Westpac - to be one of the world's great service companies. The Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) helps us realise that vision both here in Australia and overseas - and as one of our Associate Directors, Natural Resources, you'll have your own important role to play too. The team has an inclusive culture that supports learning, with both formal training and mentorships available, and encourages collaboration.
The Global Natural Resources portfolio has a profile of customers ranging from junior producers through to global companies, and the products provided to these customers includes financing, commodity hedging, structured trade finance, operating leases as well as the full range of wholesale banking products.
The successful candidate will be dedicated, nimble and enthusiastic. Someone who can work closely with others, sharing knowledge and ideas for origination of new complex transactions.
You'll collaborate with your analyst peers, product experts, and Relationship Managers to help initiate and structure a range of banking transactions, whilst being sensitive to the customer's needs. You will also build an in-depth understanding of the industries your customers operate within, through research and developing warm customer relationships. This includes providing value added research that can be used by both our customers and internal stakeholders.
What's in it for me?
In a word, lots! As well as job flexibility and the financial benefits for being part of the Westpac team (like special banking, wealth and insurance offers) you'll be paid well, and trained so your career can grow as you do. You'll also be encouraged to take part in our fun community projects as a paid volunteer.
What do I need?
A degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or similar would definitely work in your favour. As would experience in wholesale banking or a related field, ideally with experience of credit writing. Proficient oral and written communication skills, being able to interact with a wide range of people. A team player and a decisive thinker, you'll work collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcomes for our customers. And you'll have a drive to succeed that'll help you tackle even the most challenging tasks with an open mind and energy.
What's it like to work there?
We aim to provide one big, supportive team to help us reach our vision to become one of the world's great service companies. As an equal opportunity employer, we're proud to have created a culture and work environment that values diversity and flexibility
