Eaton Vance seeks an Alternative Investments Fund Associate for its Fund Administration Department. This position will support various managers responsible for Alternative Investments with a spectrum of Fund Administration functions including, but not limited to Investor Services, Real Estate Accounting and Reporting and Tax. This position requires a candidate that possesses a strong aptitude for detail, is able to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities and enjoys working in a team environment.
Provide support for Fund Administration Alternative Investments Group functions including:
Assist with various accounting and reporting functions including journal entry preparation, preparing invoices for payment, and general maintenance of accounting and internal reporting
Assist in creating, preparing and maintaining internal and external reconciliations and reporting to various departments and/or outside service providers or lenders
Contribute to preparation of compliance requirements related to real estate mortgages and credit facilities
Assist with responding to inquiries from shareholders, brokers and other interested parties with the following:
Communicate with shareholders and authorized interested parties to process inquiries
Relay instructions and general process guidelines to assist with facilitating transactions
Assist in researching and resolving client inquiries
Complete any post call processing necessary (internal and external)
Assist with tasks pertaining to document and access management of the investor portal
Assist with various investor requests such as in-kind redemptions, systematic withdrawals, closings, transfers and other transactions
Assist with responding to various tax agencies. Prepare responses to tax notices and contact taxing authorities to assist in resolving notices/disputes in a timely manner
Assist in the preparation and review of Federal, state, and international income tax filings
Assist with quarterly Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) testing and state apportionment analysis
Assist with periodic REIT and Partnership tax projects
Provide assistance and support to multiple teams as needed (archiving of work papers, copying/filing/printing/scanning of documents; other general administrative tasks)
Other responsibilities and special projects, as necessary
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field of study with a minimum GPA of 3.2
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including, Sum If, V-Lookups, pivot tables, VBA and macros preferred
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and time management skills. Detail-oriented, accurate and reliable
Must be proactive, self-motivated individual, with an excellent work ethic and strong-ability to multi-task within a fast paced environment
Ability to work as a member to several teams, which requires flexibility and adaptability
