Support management of UBS's supervisory relationships through advising regional and business management on regulatory inquiries from Federal Reserve System, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Assist with preparation of briefing materials for UBS senior management in advance of regulatory meetings.
Manage meetings between UBS subject matter experts and supervisors, including scheduling/coordinating meetings, preparing UBS management for meetings, recording key issues and outcomes and ensuring actions are addressed promptly.
Support senior regulatory managers in coordinating supervisory reviews and exams including advising UBS management on information requests, identification of potential gaps and/or findings, and providing status updates to senior global/regional management.
Oversee and maintain internal inventory of regulatory deliverables and coordinate with relevant owners on remediation timelines and data capture.
Regulatory Relations ensures a consistent approach towards interactions with financial supervisors, and acts as a strategic partner by providing regulatory advice to the businesses. Regulatory Relations has dedicated teams for Switzerland, UK, US, Germany, Hong Kong and Singapore to support senior management in their interactions with the supervisors on an ongoing basis and provide targeted advice on key supervisory trends and issues. The US Regulatory Relations (US RR) function is the competence center for coordinating external regulatory relations and overseeing strategic regulatory matters across the firm. US RR promotes effective relationships with UBS's key prudential supervisors, coordinates UBS engagement and identifies and responds to key themes in supervisory activities in the US. The successful candidate will be working in the Regulatory Relations team in New York, or Weehawken, NJ.
Bachelor's degree (preferably 7+ years of financial/regulatory experience)
JD or MBA preferred.
Strong project management skills, with high proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint a plus
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with members of the management team and other colleagues across the bank
Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to develop and maintain relationships within and outside the organization
Strong writing skills, able to synthesis complex and detailed information in an accessible manner
Strong understanding of financial industry and regulatory environment
Execution-oriented, pro-active and having both big-picture skills and attention to details
Capable of working under pressure, whilst juggling multiple tasks in a time sensitive environment
Collaborative, team-oriented individual willing to help where needed
Quick learner, able to independently develop necessary background as appropriate for job function
Strategic thinker/problem solver
Willingness to take ownership of issues and provide leadership in decision making processes, in coordination/collaboration with other key stakeholders
