Finance Control Organization is accountable for assessing and ensuring effective management of associated risks for Enterprise Finance. The TM will be responsible for issue validation activities to ensure the effectiveness of controls as well as the development and maintenance of strong relationships across Independent Risk, applicable lines of business, and Wells Fargo Audit Services
About the Role
Enterprise Finance Control Executive team is seeking an Issue Validation Consultant for execution of front line issue validation activities to ensure the effectiveness of controls within the Finance Division. Within a diverse team environment and reporting to the Issue Validation Manager within the Finance Control Executive team, he/she will be responsible for providing independent validation on the design and operating effectiveness of business controls to mitigate identified issues. These activities will drive the effort to build a stronger preventative and proactive culture and approach on how we manage risk in our business. This person will develop and maintain of strong relationships across Independent Risk, applicable lines of business, and Wells Fargo Audit Services .
Execute validation and monitoring of SHRP issue, root cause and corrective action activities related to business remediation efforts.
Drive for development of monitoring and automation capabilities and identification of opportunities for increased efficiencies.
Support continued enhancement of procedures and tools to conduct front line validation.
Partner with other team members within the team and business to understand issues, corrective actions, root cause and validate the actions taken for remediation.
6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both.
6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience.
3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
Ability to connect the dots when faced with disparate and ambiguous data points and being able to lay out logical approaches to solving challenges if necessary.
Ability to focus on the details of an issue or task while keeping the big picture in mind.
Ability to understand existing policy and analyze changes to the policy and develop impact assessment and procedures for implementation.
Ability to work in a highly matrixed organization and influence the outcomes of decisions to ensure the most appropriate risk posture in a rapidly changing environment
Demonstrated strong process management skills.
Effective relationship management skills; ability to influence others.
Experience interacting with senior leaders, collecting and interpreting executive priorities and collaborative approach to decision making.
Experience with issue management policy and practices
Self-starter who can work independently and with minimal supervision.
Skilled communicator, both written and verbal, with an ability to influence others at all levels.
Strong understanding of risk management and control concepts/functions.
Working knowledge of Finance Control relationships and processes.
Market Skills and Certifications
University degree in Business or related discipline
3 years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
