About this Role
For this role, we're counting on your intensive technical leadership to forge our path moving forward. As an emissary of the crucial nature of data science, you'll work in close proximity others across the bank to identify and pursue new opportunities wherever they lie. You'll play a crucial role on cross functional teams of data scientists, data and IT engineers and business process owners to build out and implement world-class analytic solutions enterprise wide. You can handle just how much data TD has, and cannot wait to help build statistical models that scale to them.
We are looking for someone to help parse our vast data and identify needs and analytical trends employing industry leading techniques and theories to improve TD's business practices enterprise wide.
Detailed responsibilities include:
Leading a specialized team of data professionals that are responsible for driving changes to business strategies and practices through data and analytics
Autonomously identifying business opportunities and delivering practical analytical solutions
Building a close working relationship with several business units across the Enterprise and being an ambassador for the use of data and analytics
Leading end to end delivery of projects through a cross-functional team of data scientists, business insights advisors, and Technologists
Providing guidance on business judgment, project delivery structure, and technical help to the working team and overseeing the development of analytical solutions including machine learning models
Crisply communicating the benefit of the analytical solution to senior leaders in the business and influencing the usage and deployment of the solution
Managing and developing a team of 4-5 Data scientists
Building and fostering a team-oriented, result-focused, learning environment
EMPLOYEE / TEAM: Work in a highly interactive, team-oriented environment with Big Data developers and Visualization experts
Act as a lead or top technical data scientist and work closely with senior leadership on significant data projects
Support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork; ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest
Develop creative and innovative data driven analytical solutions to optimize operational efficiencies and leverage synergies to support overall business strategies
Work effectively as a team, supporting other members of the team in achieving business objectives and providing client services
Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business units
BREADTH & DEPTH: Generally accountable for a significant business management area that typically has enterprise wide impact or accountability
Enterprise or functional expert, requiring broad managerial and deep specialized knowledge at the enterprise, business, regulatory and industry levels
Undertake and complete a variety of complex initiatives requiring seasoned specialist knowledge and/or the integration of cross functional processes
Position typically deals with senior/executive management
Focus on longer-range planning for functional area (e.g. 12 months or greater)
May manage and prioritize multiple projects at a given time
Generally reports to a Senior Manager or executive role
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: Undergraduate degree or technical certificate
10+ years relevant experience
