The Governance & Control (G&C) team within Wealth Shared Services (WSS) partners with the Wealth businesses to design, implement, maintain and monitor effective internal controls and ensure business activities remain within TD Bank's risk appetite and comply with external regulatory requirements. The Private Wealth Management (PWM) and Financial Planning (FP) G&C team provides first line risk management support and direct guidance to the PWM and FP businesses.
The Manager, Specialized Services (PB, PT, TDWISI and WAS) Strategic Risk will report to the Senior Manager, Strategic Risk. The position plays a key role in in partnering and supporting the Specialized Services National Office teams as they re-assess or consider new initiatives and processes. This will be achieved by existing initiatives by providing trusted advice to mitigate regulatory, operational and reputational risk. This role must recognize the appropriate balance between compliance/regulatory risk and obligations, business results and the client and employee experience.
Provide strategic thought leadership to the Specialized Services National Office teams with a focus on mitigating regulatory, operational and reputational risk.
Play an integral role in the NBPA/CMEC/PIA process by working with the applicable Specialized Services business to design, implement and maintain appropriate mitigating controls while assessing the design and operating effectiveness of those controls.
Take a leading role in preparation of the Agenda, Risk Dashboards, Pre-Mail and resulting Action Plans for all monthly Specialized Services Risk Meetings.
Work with the applicable Specialized Services business as they design sales campaigns and work with them to ensure adherence to the Wealth Campaign policy.
Play an integral role with the business during the design of compensation programs by providing initial challenge and providing support for second line challenge.
Promote and influence a strong risk management culture within the business.
Lead partnership with the Specialized Services Field Risk teams in collaborating on the delivery of new initiatives and processes to the field.
Ensure that all new initiatives related to their business go through the G&C Intake process forecast initiatives and demand, and coordinate prioritization of the initiatives with key stakeholders.
Collaborate effectively with G&C centralized teams on initiatives as necessary.
Provide input on the overall discipline and strategy for the Strategic Risk team while aligning to the enterprise and industry best practices.
Provide input to the Senior Manager, Strategic Risk to assist in the setting of operational team direction and collaborate with others to execute on common goals.
