To manage the Operational Risk and Business Continuity functions in line with the expectations set by regional policies / frameworks, Chief Risk Officer, Regulator and the Board. To implement robust operational and business continuity frameworks, and a strong risk culture, across the company by providing independent review, reporting, challenge and counsel on related matters.
Ensure adherence to the regional risk management frameworks / policies through effective implementation of a strong Enterprise Risk Management regime.
Minimise risks to the company from unexpected situations by implementing a robust business continuity plan and framework.
Overseeing and coordinating the Life and General Insurance Risk Committees, Emerging Risk Forum and other management forums to appropriately discharge risk management responsibilities.
Support the Chief Risk Officer and Senior Director of Operational Risk with producing a single view of the risk universe, including associated monitoring and reporting.
Promote a best in class risk culture, develop talent and optimise risk processes across the organisation.
Critically review business proposals, projects, strategies and key risk areas.
Develop and maintain monitoring arrangements to ensure achievement of reporting and escalation requirements.
Bachelor / Master's Degree.
Relevant professional qualification/s is desirable.
In depth knowledge and understanding of operational risk with a minimum of 12+ years experience in a risk management / audit capacity, preferably in insurance.
Exposure to business continuity management desirable but not essential.
Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentation and facilitation capabilities.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with and influence senior executives.
