The Analytics Infrastructure and Applications stream of the Strategic Risk Data Environment project aims to bolster the Group's growing analytics capability by revolutionising the way in which we do analytics and use data to drive decisions and insights. There are vast data assets across the Group and people are needed to help architect and build processes to help reduce effort to acquire, process, store and analyse data through a fit-for-purpose analytics platform.
What's in it for me?
The Systems Specialist role is the intersection of analytics, systems and project delivery, providing thought leadership and innovation for analytical data. The function is accountable for the extraction, transformation and creation of analytically ready data, that is, data specifically created in an agile manner for use in descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics. The main accountability of this role is the effective and efficient build and management of the Analytics Data Layer, including design, development, documentation, support and maintenance.
Preparation of analytically ready data for use in descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics.
Work with business units to understand credit risk related data elements, including identification of relevant reference data, metadata and data lineage.
Analyse source system data and identify any derived measures that are used by business.
Development of data definitions, including business rules, physical level data rules, field types, formats, profiling, data sourcing and end usage of the data.
Data Publication, involving managing the transition of data from a conceptual state, such as a prototype, strategy or model, to operational state in a system for decisioning.
Source data identification, involving identifying the optimal source of the required data variables (e.g., those required for modelling, calculation and reporting).
Data Investigation - Analyse data for issues to help determine the root cause of the issue and where required, the development of business rules that need to be applied.
Development, management and support of analytically ready data, delivered in the Business Managed domain of the Analytics Data Layer.
The development of analytical data routines for extraction, alignment, transformation and preparation for analytical consumption.
Engineering, detailed design and optimisation for data processes that exist in the Analytics Data Layer.
Manage changes to the Business Managed domain of the Analytics Data Layer including the addition, subtraction and update of data.
Development and enhancement of the Analytics Data Framework by providing thought leadership on how analytics data needs to be managed, delivered and created.
What do I need?
Teritiary qualifications in Maths, Statistics, Quantitative, Business, Computer Engineering or equivalent business experience.
5 years of commercial SAS experience particularly in data manipulation and cleansing.
5 years commercial SQL experience.
5 years of Business Analysis and Functional & Non Functional Analysis experience.
5 years experience within projects and/or delivery of business and technology solutions, involving engineering of complex data processes.
5 years of experience in data quality analysis and remediation.
5 years working in a large and complex organisation.
3 to 6 years experience in the financial services industry.
Good knowledge and hands on experience working with data in multiple formats such as XML, CSV, flat files, SAS datasets and Teradata database/server.
Advanced SAS and SQL skills preferred.
Experience in data analysis and modelling.
Hands on use of the Atlassian toolset of JIRA, Confluence and BitBucket
