You will interact directly with business and risk management stakeholders across the Westpac Group, and with colleagues in related disciplines within the internal audit function.
Support the Executive Manager for Retail Lending in Group Audit to develop and execute an internal review program for the Westpac Group covering credit portfolio management across Consumer and Business lending portfolios. Scope areas include: product programs, retail credit management strategies (limit allocations, account management, collections), automated decisioning/scorecard management, and portfolio analytics, modelling and reporting
Identify and document areas of weakness in credit management processes and assist management to develop appropriate action plans.
Prepare detailed written reports, including opinions on the effectiveness of risk management practices.
Collaborate with other Group Audit teams to ensure the broader audit program is delivered in a professional, coordinated and efficient manner.

What will I need?
You'll need 10 years' financial services industry experience, with exposure to the end-to-end risk management of retail credit portfolios (e.g. development of acquisition and portfolio management strategies, risk appetites and credit policy; and in evaluating portfolio performance).
good commercial judgment, including the ability to evaluate the likely impact of control weaknesses on portfolio quality and regulatory compliance
good leadership, organisational and time management skills
understanding of Australian regulatory obligations for credit risk management (e.g. APS 220 & 221, NCCP/responsible lending/Banking Code of Practice)
The following additional experience will be highly desirable:
experience in dealing with, and presenting to more senior stakeholders (e.g. Business Unit Heads, senior credit risk officers)
familiarity with risk and control management frameworks, and assurance techniques and processes
ability to analyse large datasets using SAS/SQL tools
relevant industry / tertiary qualifications
