This role will see you join part of a large and well-established team, responsible for providing Compliance advice, training and the coordination of reporting tasks for the Macquarie Investment Management business in Australia, with additional responsibilities across the wider Macquarie Asset Management business.
Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) is a global asset manager with over AUD$500 billion of assets under management. MAM's Macquarie Investment Management (MIM) division offers securities investment management capabilities across a number of asset classes including fixed income, currencies, equities, hedge funds and multi-asset solutions.
As a Compliance Senior Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day provision of compliance advice and training to the MIM business in respect of regulatory matters, compliance and internal policy requirements. You will also be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of scheme compliance plans, the preparation of reports (board, committee and stakeholder reporting) and will be charged with the proactive identification and reporting of regulatory risks, breaches and incidents. You will build relationships with senior stakeholders and also develop and drive compliance training programmes across the MIM business on a variety of key topics.
Reporting to the Director, MIM Compliance ANZ, you will be a senior member of Macquarie's Risk Management Group - Compliance division, aligned to the Macquarie Asset Management business.
You will have a strong background in technical compliance, preferably with knowledge of asset or funds management compliance and a keen understanding of the changing regulatory environment, with experience working with regulators and industry bodies. You will be solution focused with a strong level of commercial judgement and a genuine interest in working closely with the underlying business. You will display excellent communications skills, including negotiating and influencing, as well as the ability to build relationships at all levels. You will be able to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities with a strong attention for detail and the ability to work both independently and within a team environment, as well as to lead and mentor more junior staff.
