The Managing Director of Corporate Finance is responsible for leading our Consumer Internet banking team in the Corporate Finance Banking division in San Francisco. Ideal candidates possess the following experience & characteristics:
Client Advisory & Business Development Capacity
Fluent in debt and equity capital markets, and financing trends and players in our market with a proven track record of advising tech company executives on their capital structure. Demonstrated ability to build personal relationships with executives and other influencers in the market through thoughtful, proactive advice. Has ability track record of identifying/sourcing/creating new business opportunities and bringing them to a successful close in a team-based environment. Has experience advising high-growth companies to optimize their treasury function through positioning commercial banking products including foreign exchange hedging, trade finance, payments & collections automation, and investing strategic cash balances. Managing Director will have the ability to clearly articulate SVB's platform and map how it supports clients' continued growth. Has the ability and interest to be a thought leader in technology market trends and bring an informed point of view to the market, and is also able to translate market knowledge to client advocacy internally.
Leadership, Mentorship and Development
A strong developer of people, both direct reports and indirect members of the team Effectively leads their business unit and the cross functional teams that support it including direct reports, credit underwriting & portfolio management, global treasury sales, foreign exchange, Private Bank, and others. Brings the energy and intellectual curiosity necessary to help build a growing business within SVB.
Experience in upper middle market technology banking and at least one of the following areas: debt capital markets/leverage finance/private placements.
Proven track record of business development success.
Experience advising C-level executive on all facets of the capital structure.
Ability to build and lead a high functioning team.
Minimum of  years of experience.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience. MBA or CFA preferred.
Relevant Tech Sector experience preferred.
Strong negotiation, marketing and closing skills.
