About The Role: The role is within Depositary Operations helping to ensure that Northern Trust fulfils its oversight responsibilities under the Alternative Investment Fund Management Directive (AIFMD), and UCITS V Directive. Candidate will have day to day management responsibilities of the team and for the assignment of work. Candidate will conduct performance management and career development discussions.
The primary operational responsibility will be in the area of Valuation Oversight in addition to the people management responsibilities.
Perform the reviews of cash monitoring & reconciliations oversight as required;
Manage the allocation of nav reviews and conduct oversight of the checks performed;
Review eligibility of credit institutions;
Review & approval of performance fees;
Review existing processes , identify gaps and suggest improvements;
Responsibility for the robustness of individual processes & keeping procedure manuals up to date;
Manage the daily operational activities across the team including allocation & time management ;
Manage the performance and career development of their team
Participate in Client, Regulator & Audit inspections
Act as a subject matter expert or referral point for complex issues within the team
Interpret changes in circumstances, and suggests new processes where gaps identified
Skills/ Experience Required:
Previous years Financial Services experience, preferably with experience in Fund Accounting
Understanding of the relevant regulations & fiduciary responsibilities of Depositary is desirable
People Management experience is desirable.
Knowledge of the Valuation process and the component parts of the Nav;
Strong communication skills;
Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team environment;
Ability to drive change through initiative and collaboration;
Ability to review and approve other partner's work;
Technical skills and system knowledge of Enterprise, TLM and Fundmaster an advantage.
