We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of Associate Director, Multinationals, Global Banking.
Applicants should have a genuine interest in forming a career within the Banking business; have an interest in corporate activity and how the bank can make a difference to clients through the delivery of product solutions and service to develop relationships with the largest local corporates across HSBC's international presence. The successful applicant will be a driven self-starter, with an inquisitive mind, wanting to further their career in corporate and investment banking with HSBC's Global Banking and Markets franchise.
Being the local Relationship Banker for a defined portfolio of Multinational Banking clients
The client base will be composed of a portfolio of the world's leading Multinationals which should enable the successful candidate to develop, and refine, core relationship management skills over time to become a very strong relationship banker through working with a high quality portfolio of clients, across a broad array of products and solutions
The role will require deepening client relationships and improving income generation through focused business development activities, and acting as the principal point of contact with clients for all products (e.g. FX, PCM, Trade Finance, Debt, etc).
Acting as principal point of contact internally with Credit & Risk, Compliance, Risk Analysis Unit and support teams for the designated client base.
Business development skills
Ability to initiate marketing activity, and support the marketing activity of others
Ability to establish rapport with appropriate members of client's management team
U nderstanding of risk management and credit mitigants
Ability to undertake in depth review of industry, competitors, client and products and provide a high quality analysis of credit risk.
Strong analytical skills
Strong financial analysis capability, accounting or finance degree preferred
Knowledge of regulatory framework and Basel III accord
Knowledge of KYC procedures and requirements
Ability to develop good working partnerships with credit and product areas
Strong IT skills (including Excel, Powerpoint etc)
Ability to research and develop themes for business meetings
Knowledge of the full spectrum of Global Banking & Markets products and services
Knowledge of HSBC Group organisation structures, credit and reporting systems
Good verbal and written communication skills
