Work you'll do The Lead Research analystwill support research projects in the Life Sciences & Health Care industry onbehalf of the Center for Health Solutions ("the Center"), a division of thefirm's Research & Insights group. The candidate will report to, and besupervised by, the Center Managing Director. The projects will include hands-onprimary and secondary research as well as writing thought leadership based onfindings.
The Center isresponsible for creating high-quality content in life sciences and health care.Client teams share the Center's research with clients; the reports are alsowidely promoted through digital and social channels. The Center's expectationfor this work is that it be fact-based, quantitative and qualitative fromprimary and secondary sources. Our strategy is for the research to be alignedwith issues and challenges for which our clients are trying to solve. We provide forward-looking insights that giveclients an understanding of what could work to solve their challenges.
The Lead Research Analyst'skey responsibilities are to:
Supportour Senior Managers and Managers in all aspects of our research projects. Tasks might includedeveloping new research ideas, managing tasks in the work plan, managing theselection, contracting, and relationship management with any research vendors, conductingthe research, analyzing the research results, writing up the results in anengaging and succinct article, and incorporating subject matter expert input, andrevising the content throughout the publication process;
Applymethods to bring a fact basis to each project, including identifying data tosupport the research findings through secondary research, the sourcing of casestudies, and recruitment of external experts for qualitative interviews. Someprojects may require analysis of quantitative data and basic modeling.
Deliverwork on time and of high quality and accuracy, anticipating where projects canget off track.
Asopportunities allow, help deploy research/thought leadership through buildinginterest with subject matter experts and client teams and making sure the workis aligned with what the ultimate clients are interested in and they want totalk about;
Workcollaboratively with key stakeholders (marketing professionals, knowledgemanagement, PR, client service professionals, etc.) to share findings from ourresearch and share expertise with others; and
New York or Washington DC location preferred.
Undergraduate degree required, MPH/MBApreferred
At least 3 years professional experience inthe life sciences or health care industry or in client service to the industry
Solid writing skills, including the abilityto write succinctly about data findings in a business-focused voice
StrongPowerPoint skills, ability to communicate findings in visual formats
Strong analytical, problem solving, andcritical thinking skills; ability to think creatively and solve researchproblems
Passionate about developing "ahead ofthe curve" provocative thinking
Basic dataanalysis - e.g. Excel, Tableau, to allow analysis of industry data and surveyresults
Self-starter, independent thinker andresourceful, and competency to work with distributed team members
Strong people skills that create strongrelationships and credibility
Collegial and team-oriented in approach
Ability to prioritize and perform multipletasks simultaneously
Curious andcomfortable asking questions
Proactive andwilling to take on a variety of tasks to help get the work done
