TD Bank, National Association (TD Bank) in Cherry Hill, New Jersey seeks an Accounting Group Manager to deliver technical accounting guidance to TD's business and control functions. Responsibilities include: managing and overseeing the work of the Accounting Policy Group who monitor and evaluate new developments in U.S. GAAP to determine whether TD Bank will be impacted; monitoring industry and regulatory developments related to new accounting standards; managing the implementation of new U.S. GAAP to ensure new or revised accounting practices are in compliance with U.S. GAAP; assisting with the implementation of new international financial reporting standards (IFRS) guidance that applies to TD Bank's U.S. retail segment; communicating with senior management and stakeholders about potential impacts of emerging and new U.S. GAAP and IFRS guidance; participating in banking industry and accounting group meetings; ensuring corporate accounting policies are established and updated on a timely basis and incorporate relevant U.S. GAAP; providing guidance and oversight on accounting matters to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies; performing research on technical accounting matters; providing accounting solutions based on technical accounting guidance, interpretations, and analysis in relation to new initiatives, acquisitions, and non-routine transactions; and assisting with the review of financial statements compiled for external reporting.
Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA designation. Must have 10 years of accounting experience with the 5 most recent years serving in an accounting policy management role focused on interpreting and applying U.S. GAAP to complex transactions (e.g., determining entries for Day 1 accounting during a merger/acquisition, assessing whether an instrument is a debt or equity instrument, determining whether items can be presented on a gross or net basis on the Income Statement).
