Market Job Description
The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and enhance the broader business relationship with Financial Institutions and Non- Bank Financial Institutions in Japan markets under the Corporate Investment Banking Model. The role should lead, manage and develop overall relationship by delivering correspondent banking business, credit business and indirect product to clients and through teamwork with broader FIG (Financial Institutions Group), GPS (Global Payment Services), ITS (International Trade Services), WFAM (Wells Fargo Asset Management) and WFS (Wells Fargo Securities) team members with broader financial product knowledge and experience, to the extent that local regulatory requirement is met.
Serve Wells Fargo's existing and potential correspondent banking customers and Non- Bank Financial Institutions in the region. This includes the handling and resolving respective customer issues on a timely and accurate fashion.
Demonstrate understanding of Wells Fargo products and services and organizational structure to facilitate indirect product efforts to FIG client base.
Demonstrate in-depth understanding of counterparty and country credit risk: Effectively manage country and counterparty limits. Obtain credit information of the financial condition and management strategies of the banks located in region to offer Credit business to customer through achieving credit approval from senior management, credit risk management.
Ensure that client files are fully in order; Ensure that Know-Your-Customer/ Compliance are fully in order; Manage and complete periodical relationship memos documenting knowledge of customer base with understanding the compliance risk of the client.
Effectively partner with other Wells Fargo departments including GPS, ITS, WFAM and WFS, to ensure that client issues/problems are addressed and resolved in a timely manner with broader banking product knowledge and experience, to the extent that local regulatory requirement is met.
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of market dynamics, macroeconomic and political circumstances that could affect Wells Fargo business in countries of responsibility
Report on and use market intelligence to capitalize on potential opportunities and to avoid pitfalls/ manage bank and country risk.
Build lasting, influential, consultative client relationships with key decision makers at all level.
Demonstrate in-depth understanding of FIG, GPS, ITS, WFAM and WFS products and services and communicate effectively of their application /benefits to clients and prospects of all levels, to the extent that local regulatory requirement is met.
Market Skills and Certifications
Over 3 years of experience with financial institutions and product knowledge of payments, deposit, credit, Asset Management and WFS product
Client focused and service orientated with experience providing payment solutions to achieve the client's business requirements
Self-motivated with a strong goal orientation and can work well in a team orientated environment
Good influencing skills and comfortable working in a matrix organizational environment
Ability to work across all levels of a client's organization as well as interfacing across functional areas
Well developed presentation & training skills
Understanding of competitive and banking trends in the country
Bilingual in English and Japanese
Able to travel frequently as business requires
Knowledge of securities business with Security Sales Representative Class 1 or same level
