As the Head of Assurance (Controls Performance) your role is accountable for driving the controls assessment approach and the strategy for improving overall control health across the Division for both key and non-key controls. The role is also a key influencer, providing control specialist guidance and support in assisting the Executive General Managers in uplifting the overall control environment.

What you bring to Assurance CoE as a Head of Assurance?
A strong reputation and experience working with executive leaders at the Divisional CEO level across multiple domains to develop effective control solutions
Using analytical insights and identifying opportunities to pro-actively monitor controls and develop efficient and effective control solutions
Desire and experience in using data and technology solutions to monitor controls and improve control health in everyday activities
Willingness to look at things differently, challenge the status quo and innovate
Analytical, flexible, curious
Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to build relationships at a senior executive level
Extensive experience in operational excellence, quality monitoring and/or controls assessment.
You will also have the following specialised skills:
Significant experience in operational risk management
Extensive experience leading technical teams in risk and governance, coupled with significant banking & finance industry knowledge
Building and implementing control frameworks
Created and led highly capable and senior technical teams, preferably through a period of change
A seasoned leader with the ability to influence at the executive level and instil confidence through innovative change
Well rounded stakeholder engagement and management skills focused on driving outcomes and influence with senior business leaders
Tertiary qualified, with strong technically relevant skills
Experience in the use of innovative technology solutions and data analytics preferable
