What you can expect
As a Leveraged Buyout VP, you will lead the origination and execution of LBO transactions (focus on underwritten deals) in Germany, Austria and CEE.
As such your missions will be:
Leading financing trees on LBO transactions and being responsibility for the full execution process of a financing transaction
Pro-actively pitching sponsors on potential situations as well as responsible for mainstream pitching activity
Marketing SG LBO Finance capabilities to PE sponsor clients, advisors, and the overall financial sponsor community
Managing, monitoring and overseeing in cooperation with Middle Office team LBO portfolio cases, incl. refinancings, waivers, extension and/or restructurings. Keep an active relationship with the management team of the portfolio companies
Maintaining very high credit quality standards. Following and ensuring that junior members follow SG Conduct, Culture, Compliance and Credit Policy rules, policies and guidelines
The job will require cooperation with a number of departments including Financial Sponsor Coverage, Loan Syndication & HY Capital Markets, Rating Advisory, Industry Groups and other subsidiaries of the bank (e.g. in the CEE region) and building internal relationship network within SG
As part of a smaller team, it will be crucial to be able to work closely, in cooperative and efficient manner, with the LBO team in London or other locations
Training, managing and motivating junior members of the team and contributing to the positive team atmosphere
Experience and Technical Skills:
University degree in economics, finance or business administration with specialization in Banking and Finance
Around 6-10 years' experience in leveraged finance execution and origination (mid-cap and large-cap LBO transactions)
Existing contacts to the German leveraged finance community, i.e. PE clients, LBO banks and advisors
Proven track record in Leveraged Finance in a major German or international bank.
Proven track record in execution and acquisition of Leveraged Finance mandates
Familiarity with all elements of the capital structure including senior and subordinated loans as well as high yield bonds
Fluency in German and English (in writing and oral) is essential
Personal Abilities and Competencies:
Pro-active type of personality with positive attitude and an on-hands approach, able to lead a small deal team
"Deal-driven" originator with attention to detail, but also focusing on the ultimate goal
Well organized person, also able to follow closely regulatory and bank internal & compliance guidelines
High risk awareness to appropriately identify risks related to LBO transactions
Excellent communication skills at all levels internally and externally
Ability to successfully work in a distribution driven environment with the London-based syndication & HY teams as well as with other SG LBO teams (platform-based approach)
