As part of GSS Operations, Accounting, Fixed Assets& Tax Operations Team manages indirect tax activities for the firm (e.g. VAT, GST, US Sales & Use Tax) as well as US Personal Property Tax and various withholding and reporting regimes globally. As an analyst within the team the candidate will be responsible for supporting any and all of these functions as required.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting and performing reconciliations on financial transaction data, undertaking analysis and interpretation to identify and/or resolve breaks and issues which could have a tax impact
Assist in the preparation of data for tax and statutory filings, according to strict deadlines, to regulators across the globe.
Supporting queries from and partnering with local and global tax and finance colleagues and 'line of business' stakeholders, to resolve issues and deliver a world class customer experience.
Participate in a culture of continuous improvement with focus on improving processes & delivery efficiency.
Work on projects to implement new technology as necessary
Work on projects to implement new tax rules and regulations as necessary
Ensure issues are raised / escalated promptly and ownership taken to drive through to resolution.
Operate with a control focus, ensuring risks and dependencies are highlighted, with mitigation options presented.
Knowledge and Skills
Functional understanding of (indirect) taxes
Good analytical skills, a problem solver and logical thinker with strong attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written English language communication skills
Good MS Office suite skills (Excel, Word, Power Point)
Ability to work with, and use, large amounts of data in organized and effective manner.
Good time management and prioritization skills including the ability to work within strict deadlines.
Ability to multitask.
Degree or significant previous equivalent work experience is preferred.
3+ years finance experience
